Replaced all plugs &coils still missing bad
Hello, if you replaced all the spark plugs and ignition coils. Check and see if you check engine lights on? If it is, go to AutoZone or someplace that will read the codes for you. You have three possibilities that I can think of, one a vacuum leak, check you're vacuum hoses for cracks. Two, you might have an injector that stopped working. You can take a screwdriver and put all on the injectors while the engine is running, if you hear a clicking noise the injector is working. Three, you could have a problem with a mass airflow sensor or throttle position are sensor, which you would need some special tools to test with. You still could have a problem with the ignition system you could have a possible broken wire that leads to the coils. Just take it one step at a time, if this is beyond your ability, you might wanna take it to a mechanic. Hope this helps you out.
Blower doesn't work
sounds as if this is a connection that isn't required on your model, the manufacturer uses the same wiring harness on many different models so to keep costs down , the connector/s not required are blanked off hence the plastic/bakelite covering
How to remove oil pan on a 2001 lin coln town car
There are a lot of short bolts along the edge of the pan that must be removed. Once they are all out, if the pan hasn't dropped away from the engine by itself then you need to smack the sides of it with a soft rubber mallet to dislodge it from the gasket. You then take the bolts out of both front motor mounts and lift the engine up with a floor jack on the front pulley. Put a wooden block between the jack and pulley to prevent damage and also to get more lift distance. Jack it up until you there is enough clearance to get past the oil pump pick up tube
Back is low on my lincoln town car and it bottoms out on every bump
If it's a 2001, you can bet the airbags have developed cracks and are leaking. Arnott Industries sells replacement airbags that carry a lifetime warranty. They are a little tricky to install, but the kits have instructions and with a regular set of tools, you should be able to handle it.
If you want to see the cracks, jack the car up by the frame so that the back axle drops. You'll see the "cups" that the airbags sit on and surely hundreds of little splits in the rubber.
If you've had this problem a long time, there's a chance that the compressor (under the hood, and behind the drivers side headlight) has worn itself out trying to keep up the pressure and MAY have to be replaced.
There are spring kits the defeat the airbag system entirely, but it's such a great feature on this heavy car that I wouldn't consider making that change.
Hope this helps, or at least gets ya started!
Setting the timing on a 2001 lincoln
yes and no you have to know if the sensors are good if the sensor was good before you took it off then it is most likely good /if it was slight off time it would start with a missfire, put starting fluid in the intake and try to start it if it starts then and turns off you have a fuel issue check for spark on the plugs look for arching from the coil packs or wires etc double check all the wires and sensors and connectors make sure that all is plugged in and right.
Shift solenoid
clean the wiring on it of rust or dirt. on top of the gear box.
Water leak can't remove inlet screen after taking
There's a few more nuts and screws left to pull the piece with the screen off, including 2 down inside the "hole" that the screen is in. Pull that piece off, remove the gray spongey gasket and replace with a very thick bead of 100% silicone (clear or black is best), then carefully reattach with the effort not to smear silicone all over the windshield wipers and glass like I did. Snugging all the and few screws back seats the silicone and will make a water-tight seal, preventing that "leaks when it rains" problem for good!
