the visor is held in place with 2 screws. the part is covered by a cap that covers 90% of the area, but I can't figure out how to get the cap off, either. prying every angle and spot does nothing except dent the headliner and scar the cap. how can something so miniscule cause such a problem?

You can take it to a garage that can run diagnostics on your vehicle, as you need to plug in a laptop that has the diagnostic program on it and switch off the indicator. This also goes for engin mangement lights, airbag warning lights etc. As long as the garage has the correct diagnostic program they caan reset all the dash lights you want resetting. Hi in my experience this can be caused by a few things But I would advice checking these 3 first 1.Check alternator output by connecting a multimeter to your battery after starting engine it should read between 14 and 15 volts 2 battery. get it checked see if it's holding a good charge and has good craNking amps. 3 faulty brake switch. it's tucked up behind the brake pedal.(touching the brake peddle stem) Easy to get access to after you have located it, and it's a simple twist and pop it out with no tools needed. There are videos on YouTube to help u if u struggle with any of these. There are other issues like check if there's water in passenger footwell. Hope this has helped.

It could be u need a tune up or just need to change ur filter be a little more specific what type of vehicle and year and wen does it fluctuate

Bad Battery!?

Hi I dont know weather this will couse the problem,but you should always clear the codes when you have done the work that the codes told you abaout in the first place. personaly I would get the codes cleard first before looking into the other stuff. hope this was some help.

Might be a silly question, but have you checked to see if you have oil in the gear box, as I can't understand wye this should happen so thinking logically as your driving the engine is getting hot and it's possibly the heat from the engine ben g transmitted to the lay shafts making them expand and that's wye as you drive it gets harder and harder tog et the gears to slide along the shaft in the gear box as the shaft is expanding, I could be talking a load of rubbish but it's worth a check you have nothing to loose and possibly a lot to gain, I've never come across this type of problem be for. What happens is the solenoid on some units quits working and on other units the lever breaks and won't allow the shifter to move out of park. Give me a call from my website if you need further help. Possibly your engine management computer will need to be reset. If the battery was dead dead, meaning the voltage was down to under 11 volts or so, there is a good chance the computer lost the information it needs to manage the basic engine functions such as throttle settings, fuel management, etc. You might want to also pose this question in one of the Land Rover forums to see if anyone else has a solution, but I would guess it's service time.
