At what milage do i need to change the timing belt
Hello helenanddere: My name is Roger and I will help you. You did not say which motor is in your KIA so I will give you the specs on both motors.According to Autodata both the 2.0 and the 2.7 engines both have the same check and replacement intervals. KIA recommends check and replacement if necessary every 40,000 miles, which ever occurs first and replacement every 60,000 miles or 72 months, which ever occurs first.
This is a known INTERFERENCE motor. What that means is if the belt should break. Major internal damage will occur. Piston and valve damage is most likely to occur and be a major expense. Should you need further help, please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Dropped ipod into kia sportage
This is a pretty easy fix, you will need to disassemble the council. here's what you you'll need;
A multi tip screw driver (or a philips head and a flat head.
A set of small 1/4" socket set and a ratchet (accordingly)
Now the meat of the situation. open the glove box and there are a few screws there. remove those screws. next there are on the driver side, a few caps remove them with the flat head (being careful not ot mark them up or break them) there you will expose some more screws or bolts. you will need to remove them as well. next there are a few covers that you will need to remove that will expose more screws or bolts. remove those as well. and once all those bolts are removed you should be able to lift the center council up. and expose the.
this is a picture of the passenger side. I couldn't find an image of the center council but if you hunt around you should be able to find the 4-6 screws that hold it down.

Cant find fuse for radio
There are two fuse boxes, one under the hood and one under the dash. The position and function of the fuses is normally marked on the inside of the fuse box cover and also in the owner's handbook. If you don't come right with these, work your way through the fuses looking for a blown one. Using a small pair of pliers will help in the removal and replacement of fuses.

Hi, I have a 2005
Check the wires or contacts that power the rear door components, there is evidently no power getting to the rear door. It could be broken wires in the rubber conduit between the frame and the door or if it has contacts, they are not touching or the terminals may be off behind the block.

2005 Kia Sportage. A/C blows but does not blow
the A/C system can have many problems first check at the compressor. look to see if when the air is on that the clutch on the compressor is spinning. if it is not try adding some refrigerant to the low side inlet. i would use the kind with the dye in it. if the system is completely empty you may need to put two cans in just to get the compressor to kick on. if you have two cans in and the compressor clutch is not spinning then you compressor is shot and will need to be replaced. if it is spinning it should be blowing cold. look for leaks in the lines leaks will be identified by the dye glowing usually green if no leaks are found you may have just lost refrigerant from normal usage. if that is the case add another can to top it off and enjoy. hope this helps

When the engine light blinks, ( approx. 2 times per second ), it's warning that the catalytic converter is at risk of severe damage.
You really need to get the vehicle checked very soon

Cruise control light comes on
Well Im hoping that by telling you to check your cruise control wiring and vacuum routing for broken, unplugged wires or vacuum hoses you just might find that a simple vacuum line is in need of attention. good luck

Erratic starting of 2005 Kia Sportage: Temporary
I think I have your problem located -- the problem is the security system in the car. the security system is in control of all the functions of your vehicle that you are having problems with. when the vehicle was jumped started there is a chance that it shorted something out inside the system, ( this happens often when you go to jump start the car and your keys are in the ON position in the ignition --- the circuit board gets hit hard by the spike and it can blow a diode or a resistor ).
now I don't know what to say about your cruise control not engaging -- I do not think that these problems are related enless the short is sending a mixed signal to other parts of your car.
so I would get the security system replaced and have all the wires going to it checked for any other problems like grounding issues and/or continuity issues.
also -- just so you don't have to go through the whole jump start thing again -- replace your cars battery every 4 years,, ( most only last 5 years tops ). and when you get a new battery installed in the vehicle make sure you test the alternator for proper output.
and if you ever have to get a jump start in the future,, make sure your keys are not in the ignition switch when the cables are connected to the battery.
if you have any more questions about this problem -- please feel free to write me back here and I will do my best to help you out.
have a great night,

Forgot lights on. Trying to jump start.
When using a booster of the type you are make sure you have a good clean and tight connectio where you are hooking it to the battery. If you do not have a good connetion the jump will not work , because no current is going from booster to your car. If your battery is too dead a jump will not work either the battery would have to be pulled charged and checked. The battery may have to be replaced. If this is the original battery and the car is a 2005 the battery is about due for replacement.

When should i get a
Tune ups are getting to be a thing of the past duer to todays computer controlled engine management systems. Although it a good ideal to have your spark plugs changed as well as the fuel filter, air filter, PCV if equiped and change the oil and filter. You could save some moneey and do most of this your self or if a shop does this it could run around $100 depending on the shop and what you have done.

Where are the fuses to
They are located in the passenger compartment fuse box.
If you open the drivers door their is a removable panel on the side of the dashbard. The panel has an area you can grab to remove. It is held in by snap clips. When you remove the panel their will be a fuse diagram showing you the AC/Heat fuses. If you let me know what the problem is that you are having I can let you know what fuses to check
