I have a jaguar 2003 x type with 2 dash lights : (1) low brake fluid level but fluid level is to the top (2) emergency light BRAKE is on all the time.
I have worked on a 2003 x-type with the same problem. Unplug your fluid level float and e brake switch. Remove instrument cluster. On the right side connector,(White) cut the zip tie on the connector, slide the white clip off on the left side of the connector. It should slide out of the connector. You want to cut 2 black wires from pin 12 and 15. Pin 12 (Master cylinder float) will be the second from the right in the top row. Pin 15 (E brake switch) will be the one all the way on the left on the bottom row. Make sure you cut about 3 inches from the connector. Plug the instrument cluster back in and check if the light went out. If it goes out, you have a short in the harness. You will have to run a new wire to the float or e brake switch. If it stays on, strip all 4 wires and connect them all together and solder them. Check to see if the light went out. If it is out, you just saved yourself from replacing the instrument cluster. This happens when one of the outputs does not have the needed 10 volts comming out of it. By combining them it gives the 10 volts or more to the dead side of the input. If you still have a brake light after combining them, then get a fuse holder and a fuse tap and put a .5 amp fuse in it and combine it to the four that are combined. Make sure you fuse tap a fuse that goes on and off with the ignition switch. If this fails, then you have a bad instrument cluster. About $150 online.

X-type 2003 went to limp mode without any warning lights
First question: Is it possible you put gasoline in the tank by mistake instead of diesel (or that gasoline was added to the wrong tank at the gas station)?
If not, then suggestions:
--Maybe an electrical sensor or connection got wet. Open the hood and let everything dry out for a few hours, then try again. If that fixed the problem, check all electrical connections for areas where water could penetrate, and repair/replace as needed.
--Borrow a code reader from an auto parts store (free) and check to see if there are any trouble codes (fairly easy procedure). Then look 'em up online.
--If your problem isn't the wrong fuel or wet connections, I think the likeliest cause is a bad crankshaft or camshaft sensor. When one of those fails, the computer often has a "limp" mode that will let the engine run, but at low RPM.

ABS Light Lit, Engine Light Lit - Cruise Control Not operating
sounds like to me its a abs sensor or reluctor ring problem the 2 main culprits are the front abs sensor link leads one maybe open circuit or the rear driveshaft reluctor is corroded and broken you need to get the fault codes out to help decide which i would check the reluctor rings first if you look carefully at the rings with a torch and probe with a small screwdriver between the rear driveshaft joint and the hub carrier you may find the reluctor ring is adrift

X type converted to LPG. It runs OK on LPG but not petrol
areas to check are the fuel pressures, fuel hoses, fuel crossover solenoid
It indicates that the ECM is receiving the correct information from the sensors to adjust for LPG but when crossed over to petrol signals from sensors are not as clear as they should be
This can be from a power drain to components caused by a faulty solenoid or relay that is reducing the voltage available to the sensors ( normally in the air intake system or the heated oxygen sensor in the exhaust manifold )
check all harness connections and wiring
if you are checking it all your self then a workshop manual that has all of the voltages for each sensor would provide help

2002 jaguar x type
Hello
Definitely the battery has a big role in Jaguar cars, as Jaguar cars are very sensitive when it comes to battery.
You never go less than specified , going a little higher is ok but not lower

2003 Jaguar X Type has p1314,p0300,p1313,,p0303,p0301,p0302,p0305
the fault codes you have are all misfire codes p1313 and p1314 are manufactuer codes only. but they all point to same issue check the engine wiring harness under the air box for chaffing also the on plug coils are very unreliable the spark plug internal resistance is critical use only genuine plugs we had to change all 6 because pattern plugs had been fitted and check for water ingress in to the ecm/connector that may be the problem

1999 jaguar xj8 engine stalling
If you do not have a clue what could be the problem it may be cheaper to have a mechanic check it out. I have seen simple repairs turn into big ones when some one that does not know gets in to do the work.

The heater box in my jag 2003 xtype needs to be
Hi
You will be fine driving the car with the engine light on as this is a safety feature the car may be under powered ie may feel as if the turbo's not working (If it has one) but this is perfectly normal the engine light comes on which will then put the car in to "Limp Mode" which then allows you to get the car home or to the nearest garage
Hope this helps Nick
