How much it cost to change a 03 jaguar x type gas pump

This question is so ambiguous it doesn't qualify as a real question. 1. how much can you find the part for? 2. will your mechanic accept a part you find? or will he require getting the part him/herself, marking it up, and then charging labor and any other necessary parts? 3. what will your chosen mechanic charge for parts and labor? 4. do you plan to do the job yourself? Are you knowledgeable enough to do it? My best recommendation is to take your vehicle to at least three different mechanics and get estimates rather than asking here for this information.

Turning the ignition of my jaguar x type 2003 does not turn engine over but the security light indicator flashes. Is there a way to reset?

If the security light is flashing that means the car does not see the chip in the key.Either the chip in the key is missing or broken.OrThe antenna ring around the ignition lock has gone bad or been broken. You can take the key to a locksmith and they can tell you if the chip in the keys is there and operating OK.

You are now in Limp Mode - the gearbox is kept this way to allow you to drive the car to a repair shop. Nothing more you can do, a part failed in the gearbox and it must be replaced - dismantling of the gearbox is mandatory.

Need key cut for jaguar x-type

hey cheeriospapy,

Unfortunately the key you bought on-line is going to be no good, jaguar keys cannot be cut by any after-market company. When ever a customer comes into the dealership he has to give the vin number to the parts department. They then send an order to the company that cuts the keys specifically to the car. Thats why know one will be able to cut it.

They key also has to be programed to the car which the dealership charges .5 hrs worth of labor to do. So needless to say a replacement key is fairly expensive.

What does this mean ? P1313 Misfire Rate Catalyst Damage Fault - Bank 1

This is an ignition error. that could one of several things wrong. since it is noted in Bank 1 it is a problem with the right side of the engine Cylinders 1, 3 or 5. located under the intake manifold (close to the firewall) Other causes: 1. Fouled plug (cylinders 1, 3 or 5) 2. Bad ignition Coil (cylinders 1, 3 or 5) 3. Wire fault to Coils (cylinders 1, 3 or 5) 4. Fault with the O2 sensors (Right side bank 1) 1. Start by checking /changing the plugs. You have to remove the intake manifold to get to plugs (cylinders 1, 3 or 5). if the mileage is high and they have not been changed, then its probably due. 2. Inspect the coil wires for cracks or faults. 3. Swapping the coils cylinders 2, 4 & 6 for cylinders 1, 3 & 5. if the fault changes to bank 2 then you have a bad coil on 2, 4 or 6.

How do you replace ign lock cylinder on a 2003 jaguar x type if the key wont go in the cylinder

You may have to resort to the dealer or a locksmith authorized to work on Jags. Removal of the ignition cylinder requires the use of the key to enable you to rotate the cylinder for removal from the housing. This is a safety/ anti theft feature built into the design.

How to replace ignition switch if key wont go in

Remove the steering column bezel, screws on the bottom. First I would really try to get the key in and turn it to run. Wiggle, tap, hit and wiggle at the same time, try everything. Once in the run position , there is a hole to insert a small rod into to release the ignition lock set, pull it out. Other wise you have to drill out the key part, dig pieces out of it and still turn it to the run position. insert the rod and release it. Drilling it.... Measure they key stop, Wrap tape around the drill bit so you don't go to far and have to replace the column.

Jag x-type error code p1699

This problem is normally associated with a failure of an ecu/can bus output, in many instances it is also associated with anouther problem being present, Air Con not operating correctly is a favorite. The best bet is to narrow the problem down try and locate what else isn't working and this will guide you to the cause problem. Problems can be anything from a faulty ECU to a blown fuse.
