Car will not start, will not crank, message security failed
The security system is causing this. First I'd spray the inside of your ignition switch with a little WD-40 or a little Liquid Wrench. Insert your key and pull it back out several times and wipe it off. Repeat this last step three times.
If that doesn't help, try leaving the driver's door open and switch the ignition key to the On (not start) position and right back to off three times and on the third switch to the On position, note if the General Electronics Module (GEM) chime. Take the key out and push a button on the remote such as Unlock.
Try your key again to see if it is recognized by the security system now.

Dsc fault light comes on
This needs to be put on a scanner to read the codes.
It could just be a faulty speed sensor or plug connector.
Maybe you have recently had work done on the car and now this has started?
Get it scanned...no guessing involved.
Cheers
Roger

02 jag x type turns over gets gas has spark turns over starts to hit but want tried starting fluid where to go from here new battery new plugs new alternator timing chain not broke
ok have you checked the cam postion sensor signals?if they are good, next check the inertia switch on the passensger side kickpanel and make sure the switch is deactivated that cuts fuel off to the engine,if the pump is working and all fuses good, then make sure the center security light is not on solid after the inition is turned on to phase two.If this light stays on then its a security issue whereas the inition isnt recognizing the key,If all this works, then go under the hood, disconnect the coolant temp sensor on the passenger side of the engine ,its a19 mm socket,to remove but just disconnect the sensor connector then try and crank it...These will make the s type not run at all...This is a step by step troubleshoot for these cars that I have ran into

Car is stuck in my front yard and the ground is soft
I suppose that you have the steering wheels on full lock at the same time as trying to drive it out . Well rear tyres in mud do not make the best traction for front wheel ploughs . Only turn the front wheels slightly a bit at a time . Jack up the rear and place heaps of foliage under the tyres and all the way back to where you want to get out . In other words make a drive way that will allow the tyres to grip and keep the rpm's to little more than is necessary to move the car. Spinning the wheels madly is a movie myth . Slow and easy will get you out

2002 jaguar , the battery is brand new, so I believe its good, all accesories turn on, radio heat/ac, but the vehicle will not start, wondering if thats alternator, starter or what??
It would not be the alternator since it only works when the engine is running. Could be the starter, the neutral safety switch, or a wiring issue. I am assuming the anti-theft system is functioning.
Someone would need to check for power at the starter to proceed.

P1699 (climate control) on Jag x type 2002... How do i fix this?
Remove negative battery cable and key out.
Remove the ECU cable from ECM. Inspect and clean all contacts with 70% alcohol.
Allow 15 minutes of dry time before reconnect everything.
Hopeful the cleaning will clear the ECU to CAM bus communication disruption.
