Need location of neutral safety switch please

i assume your car is auto.the switches for the only start in p and n are in the J gate and in the gearbox rotary switch, they both need to to be in sync for the car to crank and start, check the selector cable adjustment. its easy to check put lever in r and make sure the lever is PERFECTLY IN LINE WITH THE R SLOT IN THE J GATE.if not remove J gate surround and if necessary for access center console, adjust outer cable using 24mm spanner until it lines up exactly, the selector cable is also prone to stretching and going out of adjustment due to a fault in the gearbox that makes it hard to get out of park and if you force it it can damage/stretch the cable,

I have a 2001 Jaguar S-Type. Suspension is out & dashboard msg reads "CATS Systems Fault". Located the ADCM, but don't see any corrosion at connectors. Could fixing be as simple as replacing the ADCM?

the adaptive damping system, adcm. is linked to the abs system. it controles the valves in the shock absorbers to make the suspension hard or soft and i think it adaptes to how you drive. you should take your car to someone with suitable diagnostic equipment to get the fault codes out of the system, the problem is more than likely one of the shock absorbers. the system defaults to hard suspension when a fault is present and puts that warning on. hope that is helpfull.

On a Jaguar 2001 S Type I have a code 420 and 430 which indicates low efficiency threshold on the catalytic converter. What can I do to increase the efficiency?

You would have to replace the catylitic converter(s) if efficiency is low. In some cases the rear o2 sensors become lazy and can set these codes. You can replace these sensors and see if the codes will go away. In most cases, when converter replacement is required, these sensors are recommended. I would change the rear o2 sensor(s) and hope for the best. Converters are very expensive

I have a 2001 jaguar s type v8 that jumped timing i fixed it but its still making noise and running rough. I checked the compression and its at 135 on all cylinders, what do I do now?

i guess your engine had jumped valve timing due to broken plastic chain tensioners/slipper pads, common problem. are you sure you have got the valve timing right? not easy to do without the special tools. the compressions are to low they should be 165 psi minimum. you could have valve damage. if your engine had the old plastic tensioners then it is more than likeley to be one of engines with nicosil coated cylinder bores which wear out quickley. which will give low compression readings, recheck your valve timing first. you need a crankshaft timing tool which fits in place of the crankshaft position sensor on the flywheel housing and 2 camshaft locking bars to fit over the 2 camshafts on each bank.it is critical to get it right, hope this helps.
