go get it diagnosed. It means you have anyone of several hundred codes or if your lucky you may have a bad gas cap not sealing.

this is an electrical part and most probably needs to be replaced , but if it does not go into the lock it self ( Lock is closed while boot is open ) , you need to open manually with a screw driver and then close your boot

Check the sensor

Expensive. But you csan do it yourself. First remove the door panel, purchase the regulator on line, after removing the door panel you will see three star scres holding in the window motor. Remove this, take it apart and check the plastic plugs, if worn replace with ball bearings, if goo pack with plenty of bearing grease. Now you will see aluminum holding the regulator on. Using a 1/4 punch and a hammer punch out the rivits, then using 1/4 drill bit , drill out the aluminum, if you must remove the glass first remove the rollers holding in the glass, they pop out with a screw driver. Replace the aluminum which was holding the glass with 1/4 scrwws and bolts. Takes about 4 hours. If one is going bak all will go bad eventually, had to replace all 4 on mine.

In the trunk on the right side behind the carpet is the hyrdaulic unit. There is a T fitting on it. Turn the T fitting counterclockwise to release pressure. Tighten it back up and try the top again. I have had this work for me several times.

I had a similar problem with my 1997 XK8. Apparently the transmission will not last much more than 100,000 miles. You need to replace the clutch in the transmission - cost between $2,500 and $4,000.

the sensor in the master brake cylinder is probably bad,sometimes you can tap on it and it will reset.

you have a bad sensor somewhere,sometimes it will not affect the car.have your mechanic check it out,or pep boyz they will check it for free.then you will know if you need to see your srevice center or not.

A code scan will clear it.

the '99 XK8 had 3 diff OEM radios mounted in it. would you happen to have the model / part number of the radio mounted on your Jaguar? if this is an aftermarket part, please post the brand and the model so we can get further information to have the problem solved.

There is a microswitch in the top that tells the windows to go up and down as the top does.
This has failed - not recognizing the top movement.

There are a couple of microswitches in the latch mechanism. If one is not closed, the windows won't rise.

Moving the top back down and then up will sometimes work. You can always find the two window relays and jump them to power the windows up in an emergency.

You can jump the relays to raise the windows .

One of three microswitches is not closing or opening correctly. Two are in the latch, one is at the bottom of the right side ram.
An elec guide and a DVOM will tell you which is at fault.

If there is a message by your instruments saying the top is not latched - re-check your locking mechanisms to be sure they are fully engaged.

Also check for missing or loose bolts on the top latch. This will not allow the proper seating, and will not trip the limit.

go to autozone have them scan it and then clear it record the trouble code and then clear it another option is disconnect the battery both positive and negative and make a jumper wire between the 2 terminals make sure that you disconect the battery very importan

There is a mast available, part number is lnc4134aa or lna4134aa, sorry but I am on holiday and dont recall the correct number.
You may have to remove the antenna and take it apart to retrieve the broken piece of mast, all basic stuff, really eaasy to do.

You can buy the mast aftermarket and on ebay for $25-$35, of pay the dealer $60+ for the same unit.

check the fuses and the bulbs

look at your wheel speed sensors in the back ( this is where I would start)

if it is the torx head screw on the bottom, the metal feral might be spinning n plastic housing.

it should be on the bottom of the radiator

Yes front coil springs are what you need !

I think the spares situation for Jaguars, is disgusting with the main dealers.

I have been trying to source them myself, for about 2 weeks, and only found ****, painted up second hand ones.
I will keep trying, and let you know if I am lucky and find a source for genuine new springs.

Sounds like usual gremlins kicked in to your computer, with the flat battery.

Disconnect both terminals of the battery, switch on the ignition to start position 6 times, to clear the computer memory.

Reconnect Positive terminal + then Negative --- and start engine, and check it out.

I am pretty sure it will not come back on.

Also I suggest you get the battery tested soon as possible.

( Is it the original battery ?) If so, its shot !
