Roof wont close or open stuck jaguar xk8 2ooo
I hope by now you have
resolved your problem but if not you need to familiarize yourself with
the convertible top pump located in the truck on the right side behind
the liner. There is a small valve you can turn to release hydrolic
pressure and then manually close the top. You will need the allen tool
to manually open the top latch. Once you get the top fully latched you
can turn the pressure valve fully back and your top operations should
return to normal -- at least for my friend it did when he did the exact same
thing. This procedure is also detailed in your manual.

Cranks but wont start stability control light comes on
OK.....sounds like its flooded thats all......Put the battery on charge to ensure its fully charged,Un clip the top of the air filter housing so it is loose and you can see the filter. put your foot to the floor on the accelerator pedal and crank the engine,keep it cranking and cranking until it actually fires up,even when its trying to and it sounds to have fired up,wait until it actually starts to rev up then stop cranking and release the pedal,it may pop and bang through the air filter pipework and it also may smoke at first but once its warmed up a bit take it for a spin.The stability control light will come on because of a drop in battery voltage and should go out when its started up....hope that helps

You should reboot the system, sometimes these cars hicup so to speak.
Disconnect the battery, both sides, then with it still disconnected turn the key to crank 3-4 times (with the battery disconnected, this just discharges all the ecu's and clears any held memorys)
Reconnect the battery (pos + first)
After that you need to relearn the windows, with the key on or the car running send the windows all the way up, then one at a time, hold the button to bring 1 down and continue to hold for 5 seconds once it is all the way down, do the same for the up position, repeat on the other side and you should be good to go.

1997 Jaguar XK8 cooling system
The radiator drain is on the right lower corner of the radiator (passenger)
You can use a wide flat blade screwdriver to unscrew it.
Is is held in by a piece of plastic so you don't have to worry about losing it when draining. just loosen it and leave it there.

If this is the same as the problem of engine stall when reaching 60 - 80 mph (and then usually taking foot of accelerator).
Then it is probably due to a fault in the circuitry in the throttle body. some were replaced by Jaguar but now I believe you need to get a new one (now rectified versions) - about £800

well here in iowa i would take it to a alignment shop for a second opinion. that sounds to high .

Having a restoration shop and running several newer Jaguars I have seen similar situations. Intermittent multiple errors such as these can be caused by a low battery (or corroded connections) that "fool the computers". Also had a '99 XJ8 VDP have exactly the same issues over several months. Issue was a manufacturing fault in the sensors on the throttle body that caused the "limp home" mode - usually in stop and go traffic. Jaguar had an inspection and recall on the throttle bodies but that vehicle had gone through 3 different Jaguar dealers for service and none looked at TSB/Recall or performed the necessary checks on the throttle body. Tried cleaning the throttle several times (per Jaguar TSBs) but no change. Had to replace throttle body & problem solved (over 30,000 miles since then). Recommend making sure all air connections to throttle are clean and open and cleaning the throttle area to see if that helps.
On newer Jaguars (and other Al bodied cars) similar problems occur when the "ground" connections to the body become poor (usually through corrosion but sometimes through collisions). Connections may look perfectly normal but have high resistance. Careful when working with the connections - the posts are usually very loosely fastened to the bodies. Good luck.
2000 XK8 New fuel pump and filter, still only 30psi get a lean code
Is it the PSI specs good {30PSI?} If not u have to start w checking 4 vacuum leaks, oxygen sensors, get emissions test to get all other emissions read (HC, NOX, CO) All the readings will give the tech a path. U have to have the right amt of fuel going into the pump & regulator to get the right PSI too. Clogged exhaust? The possibilities go on. Good Luck
The ABS+ETCS module on my 1997 XK8 went bad...
the electronic part of the unit ie. module is seperate from the pump unit and can be interchanged someone may have put a module from a different unit on to your pump motor unit ie, from a xkr which as a differant connector
