1990 Geo/Chevrolet Tracker 2.0. No power after stop.

Question edited for clarity, change year from 19990, add maker. Question moved to model category. The 'Let's try changing this' method of car repair is seldom successful and it always expensive. An auto electrician with a $5,000 scan tool computer can diagnose the issue in 30 minutes. It will be OBD1, but still better than guessing. https://www.google.ca/search?q=auto+electrician+near+me ..

Where is the fuel pump fuel located on a 1990 chevy geo tracker

old post. tracker day. there IS NO dedicated fuel pump fuse. like 1991 to present but uses the same fuse as ECU and SPARK IG-COIL http://www.fixkick.com/INJECTORS/89/89-90schem1.jpg the orig book by suzuki (eek, GEOs) has an error and is corrected only on this page. in red. btw the car does NOT run the pump key on, until 1991+. so, you must crank it and check pump voltage !!! same as 1996 J18 sport engine. (tricky rules no? and i know them) that relay will break the bank, so learn to tests first. and how. ask. can do. done many, of these.

Fuel injector signal is steady, no pulse, causing too much fuel to engine.

5 volts normally. Could be bad injector driver in the ECM or a grounded ground control wire between the injector and ECM . Is it blowing black smoke out of the exhaust ?

1990 geo tracker 1.6l manual. will turn over but

This is usually a 10 amp fuse located under the driver side dash. If it is not this it should be a relay located above the fuse box.

My clutch is hard to push down and I have fluid coming out of back driver side wheel of my 1990 geo tracker

the cable is seized, they all do this at near 150k miles.replace it ,its cheap and easy and avoids 3 other expensive repairs.the wheel slave cylinder is bad, or line rusted through. replace them.replace that, which leaks...if the cable is bad, the fire wall cracks.or the pedal lever spline stripsnot how there are many cables. for different bodieshttp://www.fixkick.com/tranny/clutch/clutch-on-kick.html

Why is the engine running erratically?

the map sensor fail means (DTC code not stated sadly) mean the voltage is stuck at 5v or 0v. near the ECU never lies about this, ever. the ECU enters FAILSAFE mode , in this case. (limphome) and runs rich has heck , horrid rich, misfires. RPM limited idle controls disabled. and retarded spark timing. pretty much worst of the worst for EFI ops. all you need to do is post the DTC error. and all that is what matters. new MAP time, or fix the vacuum hose. its clogged? cracked. make sure the vacuum leaves the intake manifold (sucks) and makes it all the way to the MAP on the fire wall and that the tiny filter(check valve?) inline is clogged, (blown through it) This is a G16A ENGINE, With an ECU that does not create or control spark, (old style distributor with mech, and vac, advance) DTC 31 or 32?????????????????????? http://www.fixkick.com/CEL/CEL.html#OBD1codes if vacuum line is breached to map , the vacuum is not 0" HG the MAP outputs 3.9V the ECU trip points i do not know. but above 3.9 or below .5v it will trip... somewhere, here is very good map , graph http://www.fixkick.com/sensors/my-map.html all testing of it is here http://www.fixkick.com/sensors/tests/MAP-testing.html with photos and how to back probe it with an volt meter.

Does a geo tracker have a hot and ground injecter wire

no. the TBI works unique. it has a driven ground and driven hot, unlike any 1992 tracker with MPI engine 4 injectors. if the NOID lamp test fails. the ECU is bad if the fuses IG-coil are good , "FI"f fuse, good, and no DTC errors? and ground to the TPS is not cut.

Where is the transmissin fluid plug on a 1990 geo tracker

Most of these do not have a transmission fluid drain plug if yours is an automatic. My 1995 did not have one and the entire pan had to be removed. Mine was a 4x4 so I had to disconnect the four bolts that holds the front drive shaft up just so I had enough room for the pan to come down. While I was in there, I removed the old transmission filter and there is a magnet in the bottom of the pan that catches metal shavings. Go ahead and clean all that out while your in there. Get you a transmission filter kit and it includes the new pan gasket. You can do this job with fairly basic tools and patience. Just take one corner of the pan loose at a time to allow most of the old transmission fluid to drain. My tracker didnt want to shift into second gear until it warmed up. I ran some Sea Foam brand transmission cleaner through it and then changed fluid and filter after driving a couple of days. Totally fixed my problem.

Why wont my 1990 geo tracker will not go into gear

Has to be a clutch problem, either a sticky clutch plate out of adjustment,if it is a hydralic clutch it could be low on fluid or have air in line. If it has a clutch cable reduce the free travel at the clutch fork to 1/4 in. Travel.
