Assuming nothing was missed or forgotten during clutch change it would seem the clutch unit or the release bearing wasn't an identical replacement or perhaps the centre plate was fitted the wrong way around. I have had experience of some reconditioned replacement clutches where the lining was too thick with the result similar to the one you are reporting.

several things can be done unplugging the switch MIGHT work or adding a on off power switch or a relay so it only works when the ignition is on and in park OR repairing the switch the old fashion way with a toothpick or a match book. or a saved search on ebay, here is one I found, so this is what to look for ..eBay item number: 281056003058 .. Alfa Romeo Hazard Light Switch , this guy only wants 20 bucks shipping, but in your case that might be a great deal for whats called a Z part aka hard to find. classic heater core problems, the best thing to do is bypass it for now (you will have NO heat) if you want to drive the car-Bypassing means you disconnect the hoses at the firewall and join them together-saves your interior, and probably your engine since that particular leak is a major problem. Heater cores, especially on Fords, are difficult to do, so shop around for a fix. The part is not overly expensive, but the repair in terms of labor can be quite expensive.
