2006 Hyundai Elantra - Page 9 Questions & Answers
I have an 06 Elantra. Key turns but nothing
dear friend-you have two things that can be at fault at this stage, first of it can be the electrical unit behind the ignition that is intermittend,or as you say you move the gearshift around meaning that you have a auto,so you have a micro switch(neutral switch) that can be faulty.check these out and it should solve you problem.
Ac works great on highway but is blowing warm air
Since your a/c unit works well on the highway, this means it still has cooling capacity, although reduced.
This can be attributed to a low refrigerant (R134 or R12) which has a difficult time to cool and pressurize your cooling coil because of the lower RPM in stop and go traffic.
Have that checked out and see how it goes.
Hope this helps.
Car would not start and made a clicking noise. I
It sounds l; like the starter solenoid has gone bad or the wire to the solenoid has gone bad. Check the wire harness to the starter and solenoid on the starter. If the wire is good, then it's the solenoid that needs to be replaced. If you remove the starter, Auto Zone can test it for you and should have the solenoid for the starter alone or it you like you can replace the whole unit. Starter and solenoid together. Good luck and hope this helps.
When use of blinker the car shuts off and wont start
wires are shorting out in the streeing coulm you may have to remove the sterring wheel and pick thru the steering colum and replace the turn signal mechanism and wirering etc, to fix the short.

Noisy engine suggesting cam belt prob at 50,000 miles
Do you mean the "Timing Belt"? There is NO Cam belt.. .there is, however, a "Cam Timing Chain"... connects the Intake & Exhaust cams together under the cam cover (valve cover). Unless you actually INSPECT the Timing Belt, no one can know... the noise might be anything! Valve tappets, timing belt Idler pully, tensioner pully, water pump bearing, you name it. Solution: Take vehicle into Hyundai Service Center - pay the diagnostic fee - they will give you an estimate of repairs (if needed) (parts, labor, tax, time-frame, etc.). This way you'll know if there's actually a problem and what it is, as well as what's required to fix it... OR that there's nothing at all wrong.
