Elantra won't start and moves when it's in park

I'm going to say something happened to the cable between the shifter and the transmission. There is a switch on the transmission that prevents you from starting the engine in anything other than park or neutral. The transmission is probably in reverse or drive which would allow it to roll.Someone would need to check the lever on the trans where the shift cable is attached.

Air conditioning isn't as cold

You will need to have the AC pressures read to see if the charge is low. DO NOT just add refrigerant unless the pressure's indicate it is the problem, you can destroy the AC compressor very quickly. (1st hand knowledge)

Can't figure how to remove wireing cover over Thermsta housing on a 2006 4 cyl. Elantre

  • 1

Begin by sliding under the front of the car and locating the radiator drain plug on the bottom of the passenger's side of the radiator. Slide the catch container under the drain plug. Use the socket set to loosen and remove the plug. Allow all the coolant to drain out of the system.

  • 2

Follow the coolant line that comes out of the bottom of the radiator and enters the engine block. Where the line enters the block, there is a small oval cover. Use the socket set to remove the two screws holding this oval cover on. Below the cover, you will find the thermostat.

  • 3

Pull the thermostat out and then slide in the new thermostat. Replace the cover and tighten down the mounting screws. Unscrew the radiator cap and fill the system with a 50/50 mix of water and radiator fluid. Start the car and see if it cools down like it should.
