Air bag code 33 for a 2005 lincoln town car
2005 Towncar SRS Code 33 (3 flash + 3 flash, repeat this set for twice. then Beep 5 times pause x 5 = 25 beeps every 30min).This means you have problem with left (Driver) side pretentioner (Seat belt retract system). It doesn't mean physical belt or retract mechanism. It is just bomb wiring which is part of airbag system. When airbag deploy, passenger must stay tight in seat otherwise body lean to front then slam back to seat by airbag.if belt is loose or delay to lock, passenger's body rocks back and forth. So, system use small bomb (Fire power) to lock and retract seat belt when airbag deploy. There is small bomb and igniter in part of Seat belt retractor.Code 33 is warning for this part on 2005 Towncar.(older model is different meaning in Ford/Lincoln, it's possibly passenger side airbag system for earlier model)Before you work for any part of Airbag system and touch any "Yellow connector", * *Disconnect battery (negative side is good enough) and wait at least 5 min to clear all power in system**.(Airbag store back up power for few minutes to be able to deploy even in case if power disconnected)by the way, you should move your driver seat most forwarded position before you disconnect battery to make it easy to work with seat belt.locate driver side seat belt retractor (in center pillar between front and rear door, you may have to fight with weather strip)Locate Yellow connector on bottom of Seat belt retractor (it's called "Pretensioner")it is located on very bottom of rear side of retractor.only one yellow connector. (make sure your battery is disconnected)Check its physical connection or looseness.if connection looks fine, you may have to replace whole seat belt ($180-$200 in Lincoln dealer)You can check if pretensionor is good or bad by regular tester, but unless you know how, I won't tell (because I don't wan't you to blow out pretentionor).
Where is the fuse for rhe auxiliary power outlet
I think you meant power outlet port under front ashtray.
Manual doesn't show specifically that port but it should be either
your left knee area when you sit on driver's seat
or
Black plastic box under the hood near battery.
You can use test light to each fuse to find which fuse is blown.
That port is not controlled by ignition (port continued to have power 24-7, even you take key out)
Best car to start a limo service?
Try edmunds.com and kbb.com and nada.com these are all good sources. I can tell you quite a bit about the town car though and expenses of maintenance.
Should I replace water pump?
Hi Fred:
Tricky question.
Personally, I would happily head out on my trip.
That said, depending on the mileage already on the vehicle, and the maintenance history, I would be checking the tires and brakes, check ALL fluids, doing an oil change, and replace the air cleaner and wiper blades.
Coast to coast is really less than most yearly distance traveled so It's the adventure to consider.
Cheers, and enjoy.
Can anyone give me info for the Krystal Enterprises Digital Control Modules installed in a 2005 Lincoln T/C. Why sometimes they work and sometimes not. Are they dangerous. fire ?
Whole control doesn't work ?
No power for rear cabin at all ?
it could be bad connection.
I have friend freaked out "I have no power for whole rear cabin!! It was working !! somebody help! " at Emmy award Limo parking few years ago.
I looked at her limo, she did turn main switch off on overhead control module unknowingly. maybe she touched something else but accidentally flip rear main power off.
Is not the case ?
also, if your 2nd alternator burned out, you have no power for rear cabin.
But if it's the case, it remain no power for rear cabin (and outside coach light) until you replace 2nd alternator. It won't be "sometimes work sometimes don't".
I had friend who had bad connection (lose connection) at power switch (switching main battery and 2nd battery, it's engine compartment on top of passenger side front tire well)
