Why is my kia optima is loosing oil.

It sounds like you could be burning the oil, meaning that it is passing around the rings on the pistons, into the combustion chamber. Does it smoke any ? Do you notice vehicles behind you using their wipers and then passing you ? Does your car feel as if it has lost power ? You can rent the gauges to do a compression test. Hope this helps.

Towing capacity ?

The Kia Optima does not have a towing capacity. Kia does not recommend towing with any of their cars. CURT does offer a hitch for the Optima. CURT 11216. The class II hitch has a 2,000lb rating on it. As a manufacturer CURT does not suggest exceeding the towing capacity of the Optima (in this case that means not towing at all), but this doesn't mean that you couldn't. If it were me I would if i had to.

Why are my brakes locking up?? Stop n go they unlock.

If you have anti-lock brakes the sensors could be corroded. I recommend checking for recalls on this model. This problem is pretty wide spread considering the number of vehicles produced, and as it is obvious a very dangerous one. You never mentioned if this occurs under normal or heavy breaking. I recommend going to Advance or Auto Zone, they are really helpful about sticking their heads under the car to try and help.

How do I replace drive shaft (driver side) ?

Unless you are familiar in auto repair or have a friend that does and has the needed tools; take it to a shop. Short is you have to loosen the wheel lug nuts and axle nut; jack car up and chuck wheels and use jack stands; remove wheel; remove brake caliper assemble and allot more things to do..

Battery drains over night

remove the battery earth wire and place a multi meter in the circuit to check for the amps ( current being drawn ) This will indicate which item is still on. IF there is no power movement then replace the battery as it shorting out internally. Have a load test done on the battery to see if it is a bad cell.
