Replace ignition coil instructions
Not sure what you are doing but removing the ignition coils is pretty simple.
Unplug the coil. Use a 7mm socket to remove the bolt that holds the cil in place. Remove the coil.
Some of the coils require a 7mm swivel socket. Not any swivel socket will work. I know for sure that a snap-on or Mac brand swivel socket will work. I also know a craftsman swivel socket will not.

- In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling
- Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary

It's hard to tell without being able to test drive it but it sounds like it might be the maf sensor (Mass Air Flow) which can cause a backup of fuel or not enough air for the engine to run. Or you may have a collapsed catalytic converter. The catalytic converter burns up any unused fuel from the engine and sometimes the internals of this device can collapse and not allow the exhaust to flow properly. And for your safety, here is a complete list of recalls on your vehicle. If your vehicle is affected by one or more of these recalls then you may qualify for a free repair!
