Replace ignition coil instructions

Not sure what you are doing but removing the ignition coils is pretty simple. Unplug the coil. Use a 7mm socket to remove the bolt that holds the cil in place. Remove the coil. Some of the coils require a 7mm swivel socket. Not any swivel socket will work. I know for sure that a snap-on or Mac brand swivel socket will work. I also know a craftsman swivel socket will not. 2006 lincoln navigator engine code P0171

  • In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling

Once the engine is started there is a continous

When you start car open your trunk and check around where the noise is coming from, you may just have something back there that is vibrating against something else. There could also be a bolt or screw that came loose that is vibrating around.

Given it is 5 years old

Change the Spark Plugs,if you haven't
Change both front O2 Sensors at 100,000 miles
Clean the MAF Sensor --CRC MAF Cleaner

Next -- TEST the TPS Sensor on throttle body
It is replacable. (2) T20 Torx screws and a hair

You may be loosing the throttle position on start up

Then check fuel pressure, at the fuel rail on engine,
also if your not going to work on it yourself, have the TPS

Check engine light is on and it sputters when you

It's hard to tell without being able to test drive it but it sounds like it might be the maf sensor (Mass Air Flow) which can cause a backup of fuel or not enough air for the engine to run. Or you may have a collapsed catalytic converter. The catalytic converter burns up any unused fuel from the engine and sometimes the internals of this device can collapse and not allow the exhaust to flow properly. And for your safety, here is a complete list of recalls on your vehicle. If your vehicle is affected by one or more of these recalls then you may qualify for a free repair! http://www.automotive.com/2006/12/lincoln/navigator/recalls/index.html

When i move my lincon

Hi,
This sounds like you have a problem with the water-pump, it will need to be replaced. This is quite a common fault and usually happens when the vehicle reaches 100,000km or more.
Let me know if you need more information.
Thanks
