have a lock smith cut a new key, the original key might have worn down where it wont hit the points in the keys cylinder. that is the first thing I would try since its the most common problem with the ions.

sounds like you have 3 problems going on. the steering cound be the pump or belt. I think you need to check to see if the belts or ok. there is a belt that runs the water pump and steering pump

Try your backup key and if it does it still you will need to replace the ignition switch.Go to your local GM dealership and buy it and have them code it for you.

It is a common problem on Saturn Ion... You have to replace the pass lock switch. The cost of the part is around $65.00 cdn. It is located behind the key switch.

You might want to check the actual input voltage. If you're not comfortable playing with electricity then do NOT open the device in any way. Electricity is deadly and you can NOT see it. Maybe you might wish to take your device to a properly qualified technician.

the steering you have somewhere has a fuse, just remove it and clean *** and put contact spray and refit it. see what happened. this is the easiest thing if not fixed then you have to speak with a qualified electrician to use a scanner and find the fault.

check for recall...that is plastic line..go fuel and emissions recall..check your year model

Sound like ignition switch go to bad.

Transmissions have "filters." It may need to be changed as the fluid may be dirty and clogging some of the pressure valves in the ******.

check engine light usually indicates a bad sensor. check gauges light usually controls temp,oil pressure and battery gauges. may wanna have it checked out. good luck and hope this helps
