2005 jaguar x type touch screen blank. Codes 50 and 51

If the touch screen on your 2005 Jaguar X-Type is blank and you are receiving codes 50 and 51, it indicates that there is a communication error between the audio control module and the touch screen display. Here are a few things you can check:
  1. Wiring and connections: Check the wiring and connections leading to the touch screen display and the audio control module to make sure they are in good condition and properly connected. A loose or damaged wire can prevent the display from working correctly.
  2. Audio control module: The audio control module is responsible for sending information to the touch screen display. If the module is malfunctioning or damaged, it can prevent the display from working properly. Check the module for any signs of damage or wear, and replace it if necessary.
  3. Touch screen display: If the display itself is malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced. Check the display for any signs of damage or wear, and replace it if necessary.
  4. Software update: There may be a software update available for the audio control module that can fix the communication issue. Check with a Jaguar dealership to see if there are any updates available for your vehicle.

2005 (Dec) Jaguar X-Type 2.0 Diesel. It starts with rough idle 500-600 rpm for 2-3 seconds. and after jumps to 850 - 900 rpm and then drives perfectly.

Question edited for clarity and translated into written English. Question moved from Ford to Jaguar category. You should always take the upgrades. They are fixes to known issues. All Diesel engines are slow to start as they need pressure and heat which happens after a few revolutions of the engine. Rough Idle is normally because the Throttle Body and MAF need cleaning. https://www.google.com/search?q=x+type+2.0+diesel+clean+throttle+body ..

Peugeot 407 boot wont open

We had a similar problem with a 2008 right hand drive 407;ST HDI Touring. Suddenly the remote would not lock the doors and whenever you drove over 20kph then back under it would keep trying to lock itself. Anyhow after a thorough reading of the manual we discovered that the car will only lock if all the doors are closed properly. What we didn't realise is that the glass panel in the boot lid will also open outward like a flap, to allow smaller parcels to be placed in the boot without having to open the larger boot lid. We owned a Mercedes 300TE which didn't have this feature so didn't think to look for it. This was not closed properly. The handle/release must have been knocked when washing the car. Anyhow, once it was firmly shut everything went back to normal. Good as new.

Jag x type flashing code 51 which is seatbelt switch circuit fault drivers side, hw do I startto fix it? Thanks David

Codes 51 and 52 are for Front Safety Belt Buckle and Seat Track Position Switches. As X Type belts are 51 and 52, drivers side and passenger side Seat Track Position Sensors (If it's one of your AWD models) or the Driver's Seat in the Diesel (Not one on the Passenger Seat in FWD cars!) They're riveted to the seat track, so not so easy to get out! Might just need the connector cleaning up. That has worked in some cases.

Key Fob won't lock door.

Most likely is not a blown fuse because it is trying to work. Try to find the antenna instead as it maybe block from the signal. You did not say what year is the car.

Replaced turbo unit, EGR valve and injecters.

You need the dealer to hook up a scanner and do a full diagnostic during this loss of power problem. It is not something you can fix at home.

2.0d x-type 2005 Est. Starting problems when engine is warm

Ok, time for car school. The vehicle is operated by the computer, every electrical concept that is. When the engine is cold, it starts fine because the computer has placed it in "cold start mode", putting more fuel into the engine than normally would until Once the engine is warmed up, a temperature sending unit or temp sensor tells the computer to change to normal run mode. IF said temp sensor is faulty and is not telling the computer to make said change, it stays in cold start mode, still dumping excess fuel in the engine that is now not required, cause it's warmed up. Like keeping the choke closed on older vehicles. Now I think you can answer your own question, when this no start action is happening after warm up and it always starts fine when cold, what's the first thing you check ? Right, the unsuspected temp sensor. Change that and no more start problem. Have a wonderful day. Glad I could be of service.

I have a jag x

Those model lifters are quite notorious for clogging up with hardened oil as they ran a bit hot... my suggestion would be to service all your lifters or replace them up to you and make sure all clearances are correct at tappets and valves :) Good Luck :)

Jaguar X type Warning Light and Alarm issue

First, go around the car and tighten all the locking mechanisms. A loose one will report 'door ajar' This would explain 1 and 2. 3 sounds like the ride level sensor under the rear suspension. Have you run over anything interesting lately?

Broken or loose gear mechanism between stick and gearbox. Or broken gearbox change mechanism. Obviously the former is cheaper to repair...
