Star shaped screw function on 308 j gate selector
x308 is a xj saloon if that is what you have the little star screw you can remove with a small screwdriver its there so you can get the car out of park if for example you have a flat battery and have to push or get recovered you just push your key or a small screwdriver in to release the gearchange
Rear lower control arm 05 jagur x type replacement
i presume you mean the rear lower tie bars you have 2 15mm headed bolts to remove they are normally siezed/tight and you may have to heat up the captive nuts with a gas torch to help release them ,support the road spring under the bottom arm ,to help realign the bolts when you reassemble. the road spring will try and make the rear hub assembely come inwards use a prybar to assist to align the bolts and tighten the bolt with the car on its wheels on the floor to prevent the rubber bushes from being over stressed
Cant find the diesel pump relay
it does not have a electric fuel pump the fuel pump is mechanical and is driven by the timing chain, it is a 2 stage pump 1st stage is the low pressure side which draws fuel from the tank 2stage is the high pressure side which supplies very high pressure to the common rail for electronic controlled injectors you have to bleed the low pressure side by drawing fuel up to the filter using a vacuum source or similar if you have changed the filter etc do not try and start the engine until you have done that or you will draw air in the high pressure side and to bleed that you will have to loosen the injector pipes and crank the engine to purge the air but once undone you should replace the pipes according to jaguar due to the very high pressures in the system for safety reasons

diesel engine version ,to be honest i would need my dirty grubby hands under the bonnet and listen to it when cold to have the slightest idea as to what the problem could be.Owing to the complexity of modern engines unlike a good old bedford TK or a garner the faults as you appreciate can be quite expensive to correct a silly fault or just a quick bit or hose replacement will suffice ,try reading the OBDII to see if any sensors are throwing a code up if no codes then start from cold and use the moniter status and check the readings of the temperature sensors ? failing which run it into a bosch diesel garage who have all the fancy software to check it out because unlike a good old ford D series where i could adjust the injection pump with the engine running to regulate the fuel output and reset the injectors on a simple pump with a glass dome iam now consigned to classic car repair or becomeing a macdonalds sweeper uppere

Where's the door locks on the inside of my 2005 Jaguar S Type?
If you press the unlock button on the key fob twice when you first unlock the car this unlocks all the doors and the boot. If you have only pressed it once only the drivers door is unlocked. If you have only pressed it once and you have started the car push the locking button on the door and the pull it this will then unlock all the doors and boot too so you don't have the turn the car off and press the unlock button on the key fog again. The locking button or lever is located above the door opening handle inside the car the smaller one of the two
Headlamp bulb replacement
I know it sound obsured but i found the easiest way without damaging anything or your hands is to take the front bumper off, it's about two hrs work.
Really there is no easy way unless you can find somebody with really small hands and even then its hard.hope this helps
