I just had this same problem with a '96 . do you have a vats key in your '94? you need to bypass the VATS system. read some of the blogs on this site and it will tell you how to do it. I fixed mine with a $2 resistor from radio shack.

these bushings press out of the knuckle in only one direction yes they are replaceable and available for aftermarket you can call me 1-270-746-9850 and i can explain how to press them in and out had the same problem with my secretary's caddy and we replaced them and no problems since

The camshaft position sensor is on the rear cylinder head on the left end (the serpentine belt end of the engine - passenger side). It is a son-of-a gun to get at. When it is bad or the connector is intermittant or bad, the symptom will be irregular idle from 500 to 750 RPM or so.

Removal & installation - 4.5L and 4.9L Engines

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and safely support the vehicle securely on jackstands.
3. Remove the starter motor shield.
4. Remove the exhaust front and rear pipe assembly.
5. Remove the flexplate inspection cover.
6. Disconnect the solenoid 'S' terminal nut and battery cable nut.
7. Unbolt the starter motor mounting bolts, and remove the starter motor.

To install:

1. Install the starter motor, and tighten to 32 ft. lbs. (43 Nm).
2. Install the solenoid 'S' terminal nut. Tighten the nut to 35 inch lbs. (4 Nm).
3. Install the battery cable nut and tighten to 12 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
4. Install the flexplate inspection cover, the front and rear exhaust pipe assembly and the starter motor shield.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.

U can bypass it (called the VATS system) but not fully disable it, what is done mimics the key code to fool the VATS module into sending a OK to start signal to the fuel injection computer (called the ECM). go to the web link below for instructions on the bypass.

The Cadillac's have an automatic leveling system using a small compressor and air adjustable "shocks" to provide that BEAUTIFUL ride quality that they are known for. The computer has detected a fault in the system and is letting you know. It could be a faulty air line, bad shock, or a blown fuse. Turn your key to run position or start your car hold the off and warmer buttons for 3 seconds and your codes will be displayed below your speed, they come pretty fast so if you cant keep up just press off again and they will be displayed again turn your key to off to exit.
