My brake light did not warn me that i needed
someone probably topped off your brake fluid when your brakes were low. the only way i know is to have new front and back brakes then make sure the brake fluid level is right . the light only comes on if your brake fluid goes low so the system has too much fluid if it says full and your brakes are not new front and back
Replace front washer pump
You have to remove the washer fluid box. Then the pump is held in with a star washer that you have to pry out. New pump should come with new washer.
Does heater have a fuse
Blower and if you have the automatic temp control the door that controls the temp does have a fuse. If the fuse or door control module is burnt out then the output air will remain the same no matter where you set the temp.
The heater takes a long time to warm up
If you don't have a rear heater unit it will take a while to heat up the car. If not could be that the thermostat is getting weak and not allowing the engine to warm up as fast as it should.
Car will crank, but won't start
One of the usual problems with Ford products is the Inertia switch. It has a reset button and is made to cut power to your fuel pump in case of a wreck. A bump, jarring motion will falsely trip this switch. Closing a door or cargo lid can occasionally create the right frequency to do just that.
You have a switch that has several locations listed. You can try under the dash to the right of the transmission hump. Another potential location is the Drivers lower rear cargo area, close to the Air-ride switch. A third place is the front kick panel area.
I would advise looking up this part under your Year and Model and get pictures of what you are looking for. Cannot say why many locations are listed. You will see when you read the search results.
Check transmission fluid
For most models, the trans dipstick is on the passengers side in back by the Firewall. The later models used a stub on the trans housing which needed a 1/2 socket and had the dipstick similar in length to a Power steering dipstick. The latter needed to be accessed from underneath the vehicle.
For these, it may be useful to have a Quick change oil place to check it. This is done by request as the bolted-units are considered maintenance free.
My check engine light is on. My vehicle won't go in reverse and can only go about 30 mph in drive
mark, you should see about pulling the engine light code. you may get a code like 1756 or 0700 but you need to see whats there and reference fords chart. it can be a simple bad transmission position switch or a big headache. either way it starts with pulling the code. there are code readers at parts stores to buy or you may be able to get the code from a repair shop but they might charge you. i purchased mine for about $100 and use it often.
