Code is for the VVT or variable valve timing. Was the timing belt replaced recently. If so the timing belt is not on correctly. If it just happened it could be the valve it self, wiring to the valve/corrosion on connectors. Check the oil level as low oil could be an issue. If the belt was not changed recently try changing the oil and adding a qt of Rislone to the oil. It is designed to free up sticky lifters and could free up the VVT solenoid. Worth a try.

Go to the Volvo dealer with the vin # and they will give you the code. You usually need a driver license and the registration for them to give it to you. It should be no cost.
What special way of fitting vvt pulley if replaced new
Do a search for timing belt replacement on the internet on that car. Matthews Volvo website should have a description. It is very detailed and very easy to get wrong. Read it multiple times before you try doing it. I have 30+ years working on Volvos and the first time I did one of these it kicked my behind. I did it 3 times before I go it right. Good luck
