First thing to do is look carefully in the owners manual. A good mechanic [or owner] will write the code in either the main manual or the manual for the radio. If there is no code available, go to any Lexus dealer's parts department. Be SURE to bring your auto registration with you [to prove you own the car] The parts guy will be able to look up your radio code using the VIN [vehicle identification number] listed on your registration. Usually, there is no charge for that.
Your owners manual will spell out the procedure for entering the security code [usually 4 or 5 numbers] to get the radio working again.

My car runs hot and leaks antifreeze. I have
The overheating of the car can be due to many reasons and you need to check on each one to confirm the working of the system.
1. In the first place the working of the engine must be assessed. it must be smooth with a good indication that the tuning timing and the power seems good. This will confirm that the settings of the engine is good and so there is less scope that the engine seems to heat up on its own.
2. Secondly the radiator pressure cap must be tight and good, the radiator MUST not loose coolant after a run or in a few days time- since this must be a sealed system and there is no scope of water overflow or loss unless there is a leak- sometimes the leak is too microscopic as under high pressure only steam might escape and so reduce the coolant. So check for leaks while the engine is hot , specially the radiator, the hose or the fittings.
3. The working of the water pump must be good to ensure a good flow and circulation, so check for leak in the water pump, check for presence of water in the exhaust or leaking on the engine gaskets.
4.Make sure that the coolant is good and clean if not drain and refill , if there is presence of rust please have a good flushing of the radiator or else the chances are that the radiator ports can be blocked and reduce the efficiency of the cooling .
5. Finally the cooling fan, the radiator fan must be working, check the thermostat/thermistor to work accordingly with good flow, have a good water jet wash on the radiator for a clean radiator cooling fin exposure.
Thank you for using Fixya
Battery light is on
Either you battery is truly bad or you alternator is failing or has failed.
How do I know if its my radiator fan or just the
you have to disconnect the fan wiring harness from it's connection and simply run to wires from a 12v source to the leads of the connector to the fan. It shouldn't matter which way you connect the wires on the power source. If the fan operates then you know it is good. Maybe your fan is obstructed causing it to not operate properly.
My car is pull off
This is called "limp mode" you should have a mechanic diagnose the problem.
1995 lexus es300. Transmission has
P0753 Shift Solenoid "A" Electrical Malfunction (Shift Solenoid Valve No.1)
P0758 Shift Solenoid "B" Electrical Malfunction (Shift Solenoid Valve No.2)
P0763 Shift Solenoid "C" Electrical Malfunction (Shift Solenoid Valve No.3)
------------
You should first check the linkage from the tranny to the gear shift lever. Then have the computer scanned for codes. There are too many possible causes to guess.
As per the error codes which you mentioned its Transmission problem.
P0753, P0758, and P0773.check the transmission harness that goes into the trans and also check the valve body harness you will need to remove transmission pan for this.
The first code is about gear ratios. The gear ratio fault is more then likely triggered by the solenoid issues. You need to make sure they did not damage the outside transmission harness that is located on the top of the transmission housing make sure this is ok because most of your faults are electrical faults.---------
And for shift solenoid. All the shift solenoid are internally connected/ related to each other, when one goes bad, other also get affected.Check the wire going to solenoid.--------
Also there is speed sensor.
The speed sensor located on the outside of the transmission.Remove that sensor, clean that sensor and refit it.----------
The other thing that affects O/D is temperature of the coolant. If the thermostat sticks open or the system is not above a predetermined temp it will not allow O/D either.Coolant temp sensor not reading correctly reading colder than is ,or the thermostat has been removed and not replaced with a new one
or the thermostat is stuck open If the transmission system does nor read the correct temp it will not change into O/D.------
As per the error codes it indicates transmission solenoid and transmission issue.

When my car idle its
Could be worn out serpentine belt or one of your pulleys is in need of replacing.
I have a 1995 lexus
Sure, take a test light and hook one side up to ground and with ignition on, not running, test both sides of the fuses until you find one that doesn't light the test light. That should be the bad one. Take it out and look at it carefully, and you should see where it is burnt. Replace it with the same amperage and you should be back in business again.
My car overheated, now it registers hot
u have a blown head gasket and probably warped the clyinder heads...im sorry to say u probably need a new motor...the coolant being spitted out is caused by the engine forcing combustionchamber gases into the cooling system
My starter has went out
Hi,
Improve the Fixya.com experience for everyone by voting! The information set forth below is the approach used in our shop. You'll Probably have to use a floor jack and jack stands in lieu of a hoist or lift.
Be sure and pay careful attention to the section on shims. Starter shims are used to correctly position the starter in relation to the ring gear on the flywheel or flexplate.
Advice: Worn gear teeth on the starter drive and / or the ring gear is an indication of improper starter mounting. Follow the directions that come with the shim kit for proper installation
- If your testing indicates that the starter must be removed, the first step is to disconnect the negative cable at the battery.
- It may be necessary to place the vehicle on a lift to gain access to
the starter. Before lifting the vehicle, disconnect all wires,
fasteners, and so on that can be reached from under the hood.
- Disconnect the wires leading to the solenoid terminals.
- To avoid confusion when reinstalling the starter, it is wise to mark
the wires so they can be reinstalled on their correct terminals.
- On some vehicles you may need to disconnect the exhaust system to be able to remove the starter.
- Loosen the starter mounting bolts and remove all but one.
- Support the starter while removing the remaining bolt.
- Then pull the starter out and away from the flywheel.
- Once the starter is free, remove the last bolt and the starter.
- Once the starter is out, inspect the starter drive pinion gear and the flywheel ring gear.

- When the teeth of the starter drive are abnormally worn, make sure you inspect the entire circumference of the flywheel.
- If the starter drive or the flywheel ring gear show signs of wear or damage, they must be replaced.
- Reverse the procedure to install the starter.
- Make sure all electrical connections are tight.
- If you are installing a new or remanufactured starter, sand away the
paint at the mounting point before installing it. Also, make sure you
have a good hold on the starter while installing it.
- Many General Motors' starters use shims between the starter and the mounting pad.
Shimming the starter to obtain proper pinion-to-ring gear clearance. Courtesy of General Motors Corporation - Service Operation.
- To check this clearance, install the starter and insert a flat blade
screwdriver into the access slot on the side of the drive housing. Pry
the drive pinion gear into the engaged position.
- Use a wire feeler gauge or a piece of 0.020-inch (0.5080-mm) diameter wire to check the clearance between the gears.
Checking the clearance between the pinion gear and the ring gear.
- If the clearance between the two gears is incorrect, shims will need
to be added or subtracted to bring the clearance within specs.
- If the clearance is excessive, the starter will produce a high-pitched whine while it is cranking the engine.
- If the clearance is too small, the starter will make a high-pitched
whine after the engine starts and the ignition switch is returned to the
RUN position.
- Every starter should be bench tested after it is removed and before
it is installed. to conduct a free speed or load test on a starter, see
the free speed test.
All the best with your project,
Ben
Ok im like the 3000
Shoot the transmission or better yet get a wire and command the overdrive itself to come on. But before you can do this look at the transmission fluid is it burnt or very very dark? And when you check transmission fluid level(car running) is it foaming or you see little bubbles. If you do shoot the transmission. Okay now check throttle cable or TV the one on the throttle body youll have 2 of them with is at wide open throttle take hold of the transmission downshift part does it have 1/4 freeplay it should cause that can affect the downshift.which in turns affects the overdrive. Now lets get to the dirty part in order for this transmission to have over drive. 2 solenoids signal must be in the off postion when the vehicle is in fourth gear . Your not slipping right? Now there is a sensor called O/d direct speed sensor(NC2) it detects rotaion speed of the clutch drum. all this does is detect shift timing by comparing NC@ sensor signal to the VSS vehicle speed sensor. this is the one on top of the transmission its called an input sensor or turbine. Now is the overdrive working yes it is does it feel like it works nope.when you turn on the overdrive and the O/D light is on its only transmission shift quality you only have 4 gears your transmission is a A541E 4 -SPD. Its working fine stop thowing part into it and dont shoot it.
Radio antenna is making a grinding noise
The antenna cable/regulator is usually made out of plastic with tiny slots that engage the antenna motor gear. When worn, they make grinding noises and usually don't retract or extend all the way. There is no quick fix for this; replace the antenna assembly.
When the O/D off is
YUP!! When you use the O/D off option, the transmission is not supposed to use O/D.
After changing the timing belt and water pump on
Hello,
It is very likely that the Dealer is right. In most cases the check engine light is triggered by an emissions problem.
If the timing belt was not installed properly the engine would not start, or at best, would run very rough.
If the water pump had not been installed properly you would have overheating problems, or atleast see fluid leaking under the vehicle.
I hope this helps you.
How to remove a starter
UNDER THE HOOD THE STARTER SHOULD BE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION.
UNHOOK THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE, REMOVE THE STARTER POSITIVE WIRE (12 MM NUT) AND THE CONNECTOR, THEN REMOVE THE TWO BOLTS SECURING THE STARTER TO THE BELL HOUSING OF THE TRANNY.
I have 95 es 300
Mine said the same thing. I replaced a speed senor and it did not correct the problem. I had a diagnostic and it mentions the air mass flow sensor which regulates engine and other things.
