2002 Lexus ES300 Check Engine Light
You can disconnect your battery for a short period of time, 5-10 minutes should do it. There is no guarantee that the check engine light will not come back on in time, but it will make it go away at least temporarily. If you go to Autozone, 99% of the time they will hook up a code reader and diagnose your problem. It may be a minor and/or inexpensive fix. Please vote appropriately and leave feedback. I hope this helps and good luck.
2002 es 300lexus maintence schedule at 640000
at 60000 there are a lot of things to just look at and inspect. the most important is the plug, timing belt w/ tensioner and idler, oil, trans serv, coolant flush, pcv valve, fuel filter, air filter, cabin filter, a good idea to flush brake system and adjust the parking brake, rotate and balance wheels, and finally adjust valve lash. this should be pretty comprehensive and usually this is your most expensive service.
02 es-300 replaced the alt. now when i come to a
Hello, I just went through this. The problem is the air intake valve. Because your cars computer was disconected from power for some time during the repair, the AIV has now go to figure out (re-learn) a proper position for proper idling.
My mechanic erroneously said that I should drive it around the neighborhood for about 10 miles with frequent stops, etc. Perhaps this was needed but at the conclusion it was still stalling.
I then took it on the freeway for just a couple of miles and presto... it was fixed!
Good luck
The rear door driver side window on the Lexus
I replace glass in cars for a living and I see this often. I also own an 02 ES300 which had the same problem. It's usually from lack of use that a rear doorglass stops working. The electric motor gets some corrosion in it and stops working. I repeatedly slapped the interior door panel while activating the switch that rolls the glass up or down. After about 5-10 minutes of this it started to work. If you get lucky like I did, make sure you roll the window up and down multiple times if you get it to work. Then remember to occasionally roll all the other windows up and down a few times every week or so to keep this from happening again. Good luck!
