lexus rx300 check engine/ vsc light

my check engine and vsc lights come on whenever it is cold or rainy. They seem to be fine on warm sunny days. I have read the solutions and checked alll of the suggestions but everything I checked seems to be OK. It has done this since i bought it almost 3 years ago. The dealer said it was just a sensor and he would replace it but it is such a long drive to where I bought it that I could not get back there. I can fix it myself if I had a clue where to look. Thanks

1999 lexus rx 300. Tail lights not working but

1999 lexus rx 300. Tail lights not working but brake lights work. I believe it is a dual filament bulb. I replaced the bulb and fuse but did help. I have a feeling a recently used uhaul trailer that I towed had something to do it.

Check the brake light failure sensor module, this is located in the left rear trim panel by the fuel door. Remove the trim and follow the harness up towards the roof of the vehicle to locate the light failure sensor. The color of the light failure sensor may be gray with a blue back:
1.Check the stop light fuse for battery voltage at all times.
2. At lamp failure module, check to see if there is battery voltage on the Green/White wire with the brake pedal pushed.
3. Check to see if there is battery voltage to the Green/Red wire with the brake pedal pushed.
4. Bypass the lamp failure module by jumping the Green/White to the Green/Red. Check the light operation. All lights should be illuminated similarly. All bulbs should be of the same make and model.
5. Check the grounds for the brake light bulbs and the lamp failure module.

First make sure all the bulbe are the right number. The smallest difference can turn that light on. If not here is the test:
1. Monitor the voltage supply to the brake lamp failure module on the Green/White wire.
2. At the tail lamp failure module, voltage drop the Green/Red wire between the module and the brake lamps.
3. Check to make sure that the bulbs are the same brand and voltage drop across both bulbs. Make sure that the voltage drop across the bulbs is the same.
4. Voltage drop the grounds on each bulb circuit.

If you have replaced the control module and all tail and brake lamps are operating and matching then you now need to replace the highmount third brake lamp bulb that is at the top of your rear door. The monitor is VERY sensitive and the slightest problem with this bulb causes taillamp warning indicators to come on even if this bulb is operating.

90% of the time when I deal with a tail lamp warning indicator on a first generation RX and all tail lamps work then replacing this bulb resolves the issue.

1999 Lexus RX300. Does

1999 Lexus RX300. Does not shift into overdrive. Code PO330, knock sensor, (engine does knock). Does ECM stop O/D do to this code or just set timing back? Transmission does shift into O/D on the rare occation. Fuel filter replaced. Spark plugs replaced. Fuel pressure 48 psi, volume good. TPS & Mass both replaced. Transmission serviced about a year ago and was told that the fluid was the correct type for Lexus. Type 4. Scanner shows no O/D solinod shift, weather the transmission shifts into O/D or not???

A knock sensor code has nothing to do with OD engagement, most likely the OD solenoid is sticking or the OD is magnetic clutch is defective inside the transmission torque converter, any Trans shop will road test and give u a preliminary diagnosis for free, suggest you do that.
