Sounds like you have a body control module problem , best take it to a qualified automotive Technician !

If it hasn't been scanned fo codes, the most common problem relates to gas caps. Evaporative emissions systems. When a cap gets old it will not function correctly. Consequently the check engine light will come on. Do not buy an after market cap. My experience with aftermarket caps have been very poor. The majority of times I tried after market caps on customer cars, I got return problems. Factoy caps seem to resolve that issue. Once you replace the cap, the light should go out in a few cycles. It's a cheap investment if it's the original cap anyway, it'll save you the cost of scanning and the gamble is almost 70% right.

Did they reset the code(s) for you? What were the code numbers? Did they tell you what they thought it might be? You HAVE to reset the codes.... Good Luck. Send more info as you find it...

You need a scan tool to check for error codes.

it stays on because the abs module has detected a fault in the system. you need to have it checked and repaired for the light to go off.

very simple but first buy the cylinder and have them key alike your original key, that way you do not need to buy new keys, and to many key on hand sucks too, one for the door one for the ignition, they are expensive, when ready, remove the bottom steering cover , put the key on the ignition and tun it to position 2, look on the lock cylinder lower part and you well see a button there, one hand on the key one hand on a mini scewdive o big nail, push the button in and at the same time ty pulling the key out, the entire assemblies well come out. to install, make sue the key woks fine on the new tumble and then put it back in place, it will lock by it self, if the key is different, you may need new keys and reprogramming. that is why i said to have them make key alike, with the VIN #. good luck.
