You never replace parts unless you can prove they are faulty.The tps tells the computer if the throttle is open or not.The idle air control valve is how the computer controls idle speed.The valve could be faulty, or you could have a dirty throttle body.

Did you check the fuses and relays. The inertia switch shuts off fuel pump power when auto is jolted or hit.

Until you get as fix, unhook one of the battery cables each time youstop the car, and hook it up again when you are ready to go somewhere. Sounds like it might be a broken headlight switch.

I think what your co-worker is doing by touching the solenoid while the car is on is quite dangerous especially when it is running. I understand the need to avoid putting off the car but you will just have to get your own towing accessories and truck if you keep going on like this.
