04 jeep grand cherokee laredo power windows will not work from any door switch. Power lock switch work on passenger side only. It would lock and unlock all but drivers side door. Power mirrors will not work. Need help in the worst way. summers coming. THANKS
Sounds familiar - I pulled the rubber boot back and found the black wire was broken. I stripped the wires and put on a couple bullet connectors (terminators) and all is good. Just wish I would have seen this post before I took the door panel off... Oh well...

Power windows fuse location?
The Black or Orange wires in the rubber housing between the door and post. One or both are broken. This is a very common problem it will cause all those symtoms.

Power windows driver side (front and rear) do not work, power lock on drivers door does not work, rear works. Passenger side front and rear power windows and locks work. Power side mirrors work. Driver door does not lock or open with remote, all other doors lock and open with remote. Harness wires thru driver door boot are all okay and not broken. Did repair black harness wire 1 year ago, repair is fine. All was working fine until driver window was rolled down and then 2 power window problems and driver door lock problem occurred. Driver door power window will now not go up and rear driver side door will not go down or up. Others ok from driver door switches.
I had the same problem with now power to windows, mirrors and seat. The common soulution is the orange and or black wire in the boot have broken between the door and post.

I have a 2004 Jeep Cherokee that keeps overheating. It overheats when I am sitting idle for about 5 minutes with the air running. When I drive, the gauge goes back down quickly. I have replaced thermostat, fan, flushed the radiator system. What else could it be?
we have a 2003 and it did the very same thing . Its called cooling fan relay it costs about 60.00 and is located behind the headlight assembly . not very hard to fix if you know anything about cars .

how to bleed brakes in 2004 jeep grand cherokee
Pretty much the same process always used. Begin at the passenger side rear wheel. With the engine running, have someone gently but firmly press down on the brake, open the bleed valve on the wheel cylinder or caliper (whichever you have) then close the valve and repeat the process 'till no air comes out. While doing that, keep checking the master cylinder so it does not go low on fluid or you will need to start all over again. Repeat the same process on the drivers rear, passenger front and drivers front (in that order)
I always finish by going back to the first one and re-checking it. Top off the master cylinder and you should be finished. Check all lines and fittings for leaks....your system is sealed and should never require bleeding except when it has been opened during a repair.
While bleeding, do not use excessive force pushing the pedal down...that can damage the master cylinder. Always close the valve you are bleeding before taking pressure off the pedal.
It is a good idea to remove the fluid from the master cylinder reservoir with a turkey baster etc once a year to get new uncontaminated fluid into the system. No bleeding required to do that.

where are the o2 sensors located on a 2004 jeep grand cherokee and what are they called?
Grand Cherokee oxygen sensor locations for 4.0 and 4.7 engines...
An O2 sensor is a galvanic battery that provides the PCM with a voltage signal (0-1 volt) inversely proportional to the amount of oxygen in the exhaust. In other words, if the oxygen content is low, the voltage output is high; if the oxygen content is high the output voltage is low. The PCM uses this information to adjust injector pulse-width to achieve the 14.7-to-1 air/fuel ratio necessary for proper engine operation and to control emissions.
The O2 sensor must have a source of oxygen from outside of the exhaust stream for comparison. Current O2 sensors receive their fresh oxygen (outside air) supply through the O2 sensor case housing.
Four wires (circuits) are used on each O2 sensor:
* 12-volt feed circuit for the sensor heating element
* Ground circuit for the heater element
* Low-noise sensor return circuit to the PCM
* Input circuit from the sensor back to the PCM to detect sensor operation
Hope helps (remember to rate and commene this)..

while driving, Jeep transmission will slip into neutral, put shifter in neutral and turn ignition key and will go back into gear
The item that is electrically controlled and it turn controls the gear shifts is the TCM. transmission control module. They are prone to playing up and one of the reasons for that is moisture in the cable connections near the box. Have some one pull all the harness connections concerning the box apart and blowing them clean with air and ensure that they are dry and clean
