The brake lamp light simply means one of your brake lights is burned out and the battery light means your alternator is not producing the proper voltage and/or amps to correctly charge the battery.

it might be the ignition, which is different from the starter,or your distributer, possibly

there is no life on batteries so do not expect a "new" battery to last (that is what warranties are for) Have the battery load tested first to eliminate it before looking at other areas. If has been boiled ( faulty regulator) then it will be no good but test will tell you this

PO170 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1)

I'm going to guess you do No Preventative
Maintenance what so ever, or know what is needed

The Oxygen Sensors get replaced at 100,000 miles
or when they fail or when their switching times & data
are not as it should be

Spark Plugs-every 3 years

It costs money to work on a vehicle to learn how things are
& collect needed data, when it appears to get you places
with no issues, then you have problems & lots of them & no
record of when it did work correctly

O2 Sensors are big part of fuel trim-- IF-- you have no vacuum
leaks or cylinder misifres

An old blocked exhaust converter can be a problem

I would:
Replace the spark plugs
Replace all O2 Sensors
Clean the MAF Sensor
Replace any cat over 12 years
Check Fuel Trim
Check to see all 8 Emission Monitors run-- on a long 25
mile road test-after other work is caught up
EGR -issues
Exhaust Leaks before converter
Evap System-Leaks

Have to check & test it all-the entire vehicle
BEFORE -you replace the cat

Your horn should always work, key on or off. 1999 Accord uses a horn relay. Horns themselves going bad is not uncommon.

If its an orange circle flashing, push the mileage reset button with the key off, while the button is pressed turn the switch on, you don't have to start the car, and hold the button until it flashes and goes out. After that it should come on for a second when starting but should not flash anymore.

The light is turned on based on mileage to remind the driver that a manufacturer recommended service interval has been reached.

1165 is your #1 heated oxygen sensor not within specified performance
1167 is your #1 heated oxygen sensor not heated which would contribute to it not being within specs. I would try just replacing the #1 HO2S or heated oxygen sensor

It is important to follow a step wise approach to a problem rather than to start replacing parts. I think that all you have done is appropriate but w/o knowing if it is defective. I would recommend check for power at the tailights sockets, at the fuse box. Check for continuity of the wires between the sockets and fuse box, the pedal switch. would be interested in knowing if you are able to pinpoint the problem.

First and foremost does the car start or run? If it does check your manual for location of fuse box and check fuses. If it does not run check your battery connections, and have your battery checked for charge. Now if you are talking about dashboard illumination, check the switch that turns dashboard lights up and down. you might look under dash and check for a loose connection. And if all else fails take it to a qualified Honda service facilities (you might have a short) have the wiring harness checked.

this sounds like your brake light switch is bad and you will need to replace it. the switch is under the driver side dash connected to the brake pedal arm or the bracket that the brake pedal arm pivots on. good luck!

call a shop and ask.

1999 Honda... | Answered on Jul 07, 2014 | 47 views

there is a brake light switch located at the top of your brake, take connector off and adjust by turning1/4 at a time, reconnect and check if light goes off and on. Might have to do this a couple of times. If light continues to stay on check the play in your brake pedal and adjust accordingly . If still on, remove and replace brake light switch

set trip odometer to zero, fill fuel tank, drive car until 1/2 tank and fill up again record your miles from trip odometer, divide this number by the gallons of gas you just filled car with and this will give you miles per gallon (MPG)

The fans will likely come on with the A/C. One is to help cool the radiator when you aren't moving, and the other is for the A/C when there isn't enough airflow to cool the condenser. Both fans may continue to run even after the car is turned off.
