Need code for 98 prelude
We do not have access to these radio anti-theft codes, you will need to contact the and have the following info, cars VIN and radio serial number.
I am the original owner
No! It doesn't sound right. I can see the calipers developing leaks depending on the weather there, but not the rotors. So either you already had bad brakes before it was parked or someone needs to give the mechanic a reality check.
BTW: Telling mechanics upfront that you want all parts that they replaced returned to you, will make it harder for them to slide something past you.
How to fix a cel p1459 on 1998 Honda prelude?
P1459 EVAP Emission Purge Flow Switch Malfunction. It could be part of the vacuum circuit that purges gasoline fumes from the fuel tank.
Have you reset it to see if it comes back? I read from other sites that its the gas cap not being closed tight, so if you reset the code and tighten the gas cap until it clicks three time, this may have be the problem. if it returns then you may have to replace the purge valve. Hope this helps Tim
Just got tires on 1998
Yes.. there are left and right side wheels.. I doubt it will affect performance or will damage anything but there is a direction of rotation for the style of the wheel.. it is mostly appearance.
Remember if the tires you bought are directional .. they will have to remount them. I would guess the wheels are marked somewhere..
The "spokes" should be oriented with the trailing edge pointed rearward. This picture is the Passenger side or Right Wheel.. Best of Luck..
I have lost all but

Hi,
the trunk light is activated when the trunk is opened. Quick check. When it is dark, carefully check around the trunk lid of the car for light being emitted from within the trunk, indicating that the trunk light is not operating correctl. If you feel confident in your skills. Open the trunk, and carefully adjust the trunk light so that the trunk lid contacts the switch and places it in the off position. Do exercise care when making adjustments, they are easily damaged.
1998 Honda Prelude H2284 engine 5 spd manual will
Your problam may be within the starter or starter wiring. Considering the vehicle is manual shift you can try bump starting the car. If the car starts the problem is within the starting circuit and most likely the starter itself.
Just bought a 1998 honda
personally,i prefer castrol 30 weight with a fram oil filter.castrol oil is non detergent,no sludgy build up in valve covers after years of use. fram filters do not break down or fold up under pressure.been doing this for 20 years and no problems with oil or filters yet.in summer time you can move up to 40 weight oil no problem! in winter 30 weight so the oil will not be so heavy!good luck!thank you for choosing fixya.com
What is the right exhaust to use for a high
for exhaust, if you want stock looking then get a prelude muffler and have a shop make the piping the same size as the prelude exhaust (which is 2.25 i think?)
if you want sleeper exhausts then
get two 2-1/2" dynomax race bullets $27.95 ea. from summit. and a Magnaflow street muffler in your style of choice. $120?? get 1 race bullet welded in just behind the cat or header and the other back before the first 90 degree bend and the muffler welded on.
This is the best way to make a super sleeper. Magnaflow's are super quiet.
Race bullets act as resonators. they are only available in 2.5" in/out but thats ok.

heres adiagram to check resistance of the sensor, it should be1200-1300 ohms, but take note the sensor could read good at this time this problem is intermitent and the sensor may be bad, check for continuty at the computer connector , if all wires are good then i would replace the crankshaft sensor/top dead sensor (CKP/TDC).next check conntinuty between sensor terminals and ground check all four prongs on sensor if theres continuity on any one replace sensor, next key off and sensor connected . remove the pcm 31 pin connector (C) here a diagram of it. at the pcm connector measure resistance between terminals C2 and C12 it should be 1200-3200 ohms, then check between C3 and C13, again 1200-3200ohms if the ohms are off then check wires that fail omh test.next test is with connector again test connector c2 (blue /white wire) to ground and C3 to ground if continuity exists then repair wire that fails between connector and sensor, if all tests are good then try a good pcm. i dont think its pcm, i think if its not a wire then replace sensor , but good luck and i hope this helps.

Engine knocks when you go in reverse why?
If it knocks when you go from Drive to Reverse or Park to Reverse than its usually a rear engine mount, Bushing or bolts to engine cradle under engine near firewall in center of engine bay towards passenger side. This is for a single or tourqe knock Which means the engine rotates too far and makes contact with a part of the engine bay it should not, or it is loose enough to make the sound.
Easier to notice in a stick shift car than a automatic test by setting Ebrake and putting car into reverse go from drive to reverse in idle with foot on brake if its knocking only when you go into gear this is the problem.
How do you put on the hood emblem? There is no
if you are reinstalling it onto a new replacement hood you may have to drill the hole especially if it's not an "OME" some times when you save money on the parts you have to do some of the labor, that's how they save on the cost. Also some of the emblems are held in place with 2 sided tape that is not what you can buy in the store. You might go by an auto body shop and ask for help, most good shop will give information to you for free, if you don't make a pest of yourself. off peak hours are better.
