1993 volvo sometimes misfiring on starting but not always some days no problem at all and may run smooth for weeks. seems to happen when engine is at low rpms

run fault codes and look for faulty injector/s. have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold and check for faulty pressure regulator and fuel pump. This misfiring on start up is an indication that the fuel manifold is loosing pressure on standing and there is air getting in to the injectors until the pressure is restored.

Oil leak at bottom of timming belt cover

what engine.? lots of engines, used. and 21 models of civic, USA. its usually. 1: valve cover, (yes, most can leak from top down behind the belt. 2: cam seals 3: crank end seal 4: oil pump seals. 6: oil pan ( last choice) finding oil leaks takes hard work , clean, it find it . or use the dye kits. gravity and wind, allows it to go where ever IT wants. so it must be clean first to find it.. see? or use the dye kits, it shows a live leak best. ever look here? http://estore.honda.com/honda/parts/view-honda-parts-catalog-detail.asp?m=1997-civic-2-dx-4at&sn=&b=E++09&dl= question, at the 60k mile service points. you check lash, settings. with a new timing belt. and at such point, a new valve cover gasket gets fitted, did you? if yes, its not leaking if not>???? the front edge of the VC gasket, leaks down behind what i call the VC leak hidder, tin pan. plate. behind the cam cog is a plate, and the VC leaks down from there to the cam seal then down front of engine, then past crank seal the, to cover. seen this on all most all OHC engines... cause, nobody does the 60k or does it and uses the old gaskets. id look there first. but id dont have service history. start high work down due to gravity..... the FSM is here. see that too. "free" too http://hondatech.info/downloads/Auto/Manuals/Civic/

Oil leak by the timming cover gasket

we need engine displace ment or exact honda type. ID to answer fully., my guess, is the engine leaks oil and you have tried fix it odd, you did the hard ones first. why not the valve cover did you know there are 2 ways to find leaks. 1: clean it , all off, then run it and look. see live leak. best is to do that with out driving as the wind blows it about. find it , now you know what leaking. 2: use the UV dye kit. quote wiki, but WHAT ENGINE ????????????????? all base models were made with 1.6L engines. The EX-CX are all SOHC (Honda D engine). The CX, DX, and LX all have D16y7 non-VTEC engines; whereas the EX has a D16y8 VTEC, and the HX has D16y5 VTEC-E. The USDM Si and Canadian SiR came with a DOHC (B16A2 VTEC). first tell engine, ! DOHC is quite different.

Timing belt snapped at 60 mph, would the engine

I believe not. It is simple to find out. Just lift it on the side where the timing side is,remove the wheel and with a socket 19mm putting it on the crankshaft pulley with no gear turn slowly slowly in order to notice where you feel if no valve(S) touching the piston,

I have a 1997 Honda Civic with about 158,000 miles

Hi: There are hundreds of reasons a MIL will illuminate, and the only way to find out what caused it is to have the code downloaded off of the computer. Usually auto parts stores, such as Auto zone, will do this for free. Then you can figure out what caused the code, and work towards fixing the problem!

My engine got wet and now i hear a noise like

Hi: Most likely what you hear is a belt on the engine squealing. If it is just slightly loose, it will squeal when first starting up, or accellerating. It would be a good idea to have the belts checked for wear or tightness, and adjusted as needed

Battery has power but nothing in the car will come

Have a load test done on the battery to check for failing cell. Make sure that the battery terminals are shiny clean and tight. There is a fusible link next to the battery that controls a lot of your problems. They can be a small piece of loop wire covered by a fabric cover or a ceramic fuse holder in a box next to the battery

Passenger door does not work

I own a Civic as well and your problem reminded me of a same situation that I had faced few months back. So, I thought to help you out with this. I replaced my door with a used one which I bought from autopartsfair.com and it came with a year warranty on it.If you are facing the same problem then I would suggest you to replace yours as well.

$1000 for good used low milage engine. Anywhere for $3000-$4000 ffor a new one, at least. Jasper's have remanufactured motors, 3 year/30,000 miles, at bit less than new.

The first you should be taking when getting error code should be to replace the faulty spark plugs and their respective wiring. Also check for faulty distributor and ignition coil. If everything till now is fine then and only then go for cleaning throttle body.
