My Honda accord 1993 once l engage the gear to drive there is a small vibration noticed on the steering and dashboard what are the likely cause?
Mine is an automatic--not standard. Are you certain that it's not Honda's weak motor mounts? It's a weakness with these Hondas--one not in any manner remedied by today's cheapo PRC parts, either. (Same defective design: The problem will recur later--given your Honda isn't put out of its misery beforehand.) I've had them replaced once already: They've gone bad again...Expensive dealer repair: $1,000+-range, many years ago.. It's a common problem/curse afflicting these Accords. .
Given it is the mounts, proceed in DIY repair with great caution. As I understand it, one may lift the front end onto jack stands, then, wedging the rear wheels, of course. Then, one may carefully lift the oil pan/motor further with a bottle jack, etc.--protecting the pan with a block of wood, etc. Then, one may replace the mounts which allow for replacement--not all do.
Check carefully first with Chilton's or Hayne's manuals (I forget in which I found this long ago--glean perhaps from both) before even considering this, though. In any case, I'm pretty dead certain that it's far more difficult than depicted. This info here is just from the top of my head. Do exhaustive online research online, also--any good tips would prove very helpful and welcome, too.
Please relate back here if you attempt motor mount replacement: I'm a big-time coward--in need of excessive reinforcement!
