How to find a short in my wiring harness for a

at least you know were to start, key on the fuse that blew.and everything controlled by it.i'm assuming that every time you replace the fuse now,it blows .think back before the short, was there any electricial problems,or devices that didnt work.,wires are melted together,or motors are shorted out.putting a bigger fuse in probably burnt a wire open(meaning got too hot and broke)whatever blew the fuse to start with,is most likley where the meltdown is ,start unplugging the things on that fuse, one at a time, remove tail lightbulbs, inspect thre sockets, look up under the dash at the wiring ,your clock, tach.and gas gauge ,are there, observation is almost 90%of trouble shooting anything .fixing it is easy pop the hood spend some time just looking at every thing follow wires make sure they arent melted together ,and are plugged in,just unplugging something and plugging it back in will show problems, things will fall apart.clips will break and hopefully you will see something obvious, shorts are never fun,do you have any electrical background?and know how to use a multimeter .if you do reply ,

I hit a pothole and broke some sort of bar that

can you turn the wheels still? if you can then its not a tie rod. more than likely it is the sway bar for body roll of the car. goto auto zone or O'reilly auto parts to get the right fix.

My brake padel gos alltha way down

  1. You might simply need to replace your brakes, they're wearable items and don't last forever. But it's not fine one day, bad the next. You hear any scraping?
  2. You might need to only add brake fluid (any leaks on the ground?)
  3. Air in the hydraulic brake lines. Old lines, failing brake booster, or faulty service could also be the culprit.

89 Honda Prelude failing emissions rich

is everything stock? and you have catalitic converter in place?

Stop by Schucks auto supply and have them run the codes. i'm sure there is a code if you cant pass emissions. your check engine light bulb is probably out.

and usually the first cause is the first o2 sensor.

My tail lights are working but i have no brake lights

I'm working on a 1984 Camry with no brake lights. You might try the brake light switch. It is located near the top of the brake pedal. Mine was hard to get to. I had to remove lower plastic piece under stearing wheel and a AC outlet. The switch should have 12 V to one side even with motor off. When you press on the brake the switch allows 12V to pass through to the brake lights. I am no expert. Still working on my problem. I've got 12V through my switch but nothing going to the back. I don't have a good wiring diagram and you talk about alot of wires just take a good look under there. You do want to check bulbs in back. I supose you have checked that already. God bless Steve

Cant find the fuel filter on my 1990 Volvo. Its a 760 Turbo

Hello Kisha...These fuel filters are found inside a metal bracket under the left rear of the car. Before changing the fuel filter, loosen or remove the gas cap; this will equalize pressure within the system. Some will have washers, usually copper on the connections. They should be replaced also.

This is what the filter looks like.
