Timing or ecu throwing a code
easiest way to check for a broken timing belt is to look into the oil fill hole on valve cover and have someone crank engine. see if you can see the cam move. if not moving, timing belt is broken. if it is moving it is not broken but still may be off a tooth or more. at that point you will need to remove timing covers and check timing marks. these cars are very simple and you can learn alot by spending 20 bucks on a basic haynes type repair manual.
What is an error code 8
TDC (Top Dead Center) position/crank angle sensor or circuit Problem. That's what Honda calls it. Part stores will call it a CRANK POSITION SENSOR. P.S. The Sensor itself is probably going bad.

the injectors are plugged you can try a can of STP gas treatment with injector cleaner in it and if that helps you should be alright but if it does not you may need to replace the injectors if you need instructions or diagrams on this try autozone.com or your local library

I would suggest you to connect them in parallel. Use a 555 timer with them for switching them on/off and also use a power supply of +5v with it.
Setting timing
Get a 17 mm socket and a ratchet with a short extension.Behind the drivers side front wheel theres an acces hole that will allow you to turn the crank pulley with the ratchet.You dont need to remove the wheel or jack the car up to do this.Make sure trans is in neutral and parking brake set.Now,turn crank pulley counter clockwise until the TDC mark is lined up with the pointer on the plastic timing belt cover.It will be a single notch on the rear edge of the pulley,the 3 notches together are for ignition timing.Like this I I I I It may be hard to see but its there.Wipe pulley off or feel with fingernail and you'll find them.Remember to use the single notch by itself.Now look on the cam gear and make sure TOP is at twelve o'clock and the two notches on the left and right are horizontal with the cylinder head.You're done.

if dark get a tranny flush and replace the filter its only cost like 100 bucks for every thing
Car wont start

If you haven't had the distributor out then turn the cam so the rotor points to No.1. Then yiou should see some marks either lining up or close to it.
If you have had the distributor out, set the cam and then worry about the distributor.
Some engines have more than one possible location for the cam gear. I'm not 100% about Hondas so I can't comment either way. Sorry.
Still need advice
Turn crank so that timing mark on front pulley is at 0 degrees.
Remove the timing cover and you should see a mark for the cam to line up with.
You want the cam lobes on No.1 cylinder to be pointing away from the followers wether they be rockers above cam or buckets below. This will be the compression stroke.
Once the cam timing is set you can recheck the distributor. It should point to No.1.
Regards to timing problem
If you can't get it close to #1 position by turning the distributor you have somethhing off. Double check your timing marks. Manualy turn the engine over 360* and line up your timing marks again. if you don't have a manual , here's a site to go to and download the specific area of the manual that you need. It'll give you timing mark alignment and distributor position.

This is the tricky part... as I mentioned in my solution, When you install the distributor, the shaft will turn because of the gears. You are going to have to pull the distributor just enough so that the gears aren't meshing together and turn the shaft.take notice of which way the shaft turns when you remove the distributor. Once the gears aren't meshing, turn the shaft to the #1 position and go a little past the #1 position in the opposite way that the shaft turned.install the distributor and see where the rotor sits then.if it is still not in the right place, pull it again and go one gear tooth at a time until the rotor lines up with the #1 position. Messed up and took head off without putting #1 piston at TDC
Hi there.... I'm assuming you have the head back on. the easiest way is to try and line up the timing marks an the pulleys and install the timing belt. If you have done this and the timing marks line up as they should, you can take the sparkplug out of the #1 cylinder and manually turn the engine over till you can feel air pressure coming out of the plug hole. continue turning the engine till you can't feel anymore pressure. Don't go too far cause then you'll be on the intake stroke and you'll have to turn the engine the opposite way. with the #1 cylinder at TDC, take you distirbutor and cap and figure out what position the rotor should be at for #1 plug. Mark the distributor somewhere where that position is ( where the #1post on the cap should be). Finally insert the distributor and try to get the rotor as close to that position as possible. remember when you install the distributor, The rotor position will move due to the gear set up. Once you have the distributor istalled, you can adjust the distributor for timing by turning it. Hope this helps you out. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask..

Sounds like you have the distributor timing 180* out.
Remove the distributor and turn engine 360* and reinsert distributor.

No one can tell you what other problems you would have, they would be playing GOD. Anyway the crank angle sensor is built into the distributor and you should change it asap. An option is to get one from a junk/used car yard. If you wanted it re-manufactured Autozone will have it with lifetime warranty.

Timming belt broke
Go to your local NAPA, Carquest, Advance Auto Parts, O'Reilly's, Checkers, AutoZone, or whoever you deal with, and they can provide you with a timing mark index for your application. If they tell you they can't, it's because they don't want to. You may also find that this is an interference engine, and that a valve job may be in order. The piston and the valves occupy the same space, but at different times. When a timing belt breaks on an interference engine, the piston and the valves may then try to occupy the same space at the same time. Piston wins, valves lose. In most cases anyway.
