Clean the carburator with some card cleaner. Next, check for a vacuum leak or a faulty IAC idle air control valve (usually located on the bottom of the throttle body). Sometimes it gets caked up and stuck. Try to clean it with a can of brake cleaner and then spray a small amount of penetrating oil on the shaft. Make sure the shaft rotates freely. If that does not work then replace it.

Yes do the same inspection as 100k. I.E. Replace water pump. Load test alternator. Change all fluids, repack wheel bearings and fuel pump.
Find and repair the metal rings tinkling. it could be a safety problem. You will also need a complete safety inspection, to include body and frame.
Congratulations on making it to 180k. BUT you have a 300k car.
NOTE:
I drive a 1984 dodge charger with 160k on it.
Hope this tip helps.

The fuel pump relay should energize for about 2 seconds and then shut off until the car starts
if it's not doing that, then replace it
this is the most common failure in these cars.
The transmission will not shift
This will most likely involve the transmission governor not "seeing" the pressure from the torque converter, therefore not knowing that it needs to shift. Unless you have the tools and expertise to do this job, I would take it to a transmission shop for further diagnostics and repair. Best regards, Marvin
I have a 1989 honda civic hatchback dx model it
see if cable to the throttle is okay ....did you try it in all gears ? is it standard or automatic ?..if it's automatic check your transmission fluid ....if it's low top it up ..before checking check to see if it smells like it's burnt ...if it is change the fluid in the transmission in it ...you might have a blown transmission ...let me know what happens ....i will help you out further ...if all else fails ....good luck
Car stereo replacement
take it to your local radio dealer - that installs - I did that park out back - and just ask one of the guys working there - most likely he will remove it for u - mine did and I tipped him 5 dollars
Engine main seals leaking
Replace them.
You will need to diagnose exactly which seals are leaking.
Replacing the front main seal requires removal of the cam timing components, including the timing belt and lower timing cog. The front main engine seal is installed in the oil pump, and can be removed with a pick. The new seal should be installed with care, using ether a seal installer tool or a socket/pipe of size equal to the metal ring in the seal, using a gentle tapping with a small hammer or board to ensure that you don't damage the seal. You must also ensure that the seal is seated fully in the bore. Ensure that you install the seal in the correct orientation.
If the rear main seal needs to be replaced, you will need to remove the engine or transmission from the vehicle to access it.
Engine periodically
the idle surges if this is the case take out the air intake tube that leads to the throttle body, get a can of carburetor fluid and spray around the throttle body. You will need someone to start the car and hold the gas peddle to 2500 rpm while you do this the car will shut of when you do this, restart the car and repeat the process until half of the can is used up. Now check your antifreeze level fill if needed.
