Do u have the carbureted or fuel injected model? (both were available that year) The carb. model has a separate voltage regulator which is mounted on the right front shock tower. The fuel injected model is inside the alternator, under the end cover.
Have the alt. tested before u purchase a new one to make sure that's the problem. Most parts stores will check it for free. Be sure to disconnect the neg. battery cable before u start to remove it. Let me know how u make out. Curt

I had exactly same thing on my boat recently...which has a car motor in it. And I also charged the battery and I also had a reading that said I had charge. HOwever, I tried another battery from a car and it suddenly worked. Don't know why, but it really was the battery. When I put the old one back in, it still wouldn't start. With a new battery it's fine. Ya just never know why sometimes!! Good luck!

while running try spraying starter fluid around intake manifold if any change you have vacuume leak. most likely the ecm says i have to much air so that is why it dies it changes gas and air flow

there are only two fuel filters on the car, one in the engine compartment if you are faceing the car from the front it will be coming from the firewall on the left side next to the heater hoses, look for a red braided hose and you will see the brass looking filter in line on the red hose. the other one is behind the LEFT rear wheel, take the wheel off and you will see the filter next to the shock. it may have a small basket on it so you will need to remove the basket and you will see the filter right there. it will be a white plastic one. hope this is helpful good luck

The transmission dipstick has a yellow loop handle and if you're in front of your vehicle facing the engine, it's to your lower left front right in front of the bottom radiator hose. Hope this helps. Good luck :O)

Use a breaker bar or a pipe to slide over the wrench or ratchet. This will give you more leverage and break it loose. I nwould recommend a 1/2 drive ratchet if using a socket. Just be sure the socket or wrench is securely on the nut before lossening, otherwise it will slip.

The manuel trans doesn't have one just a plug in the side of the case that it should be filled to. Even the manual trans uses ATF anyway. The auto the stick is under the air filter box and is hard to get to. it has a red looped handle with a lock clip holding it in.

Transmission hot,after been driven preferently, engine running, transmission in park. fluid level should be within the criscross area.

Your turn signal switch is probably not working, change the switch.

Carbuterors are an antiquity nowadays. You can try aftermarket or speed shops, but they are getting expensive also. Best bet is to find someone to rebuild the one you have

ceck all the earth wire connections around the car especialy around battery and starter motor and solenoid

The engine and emission control system covered by this information operate on a combination of vacuum and electrical signals; they are extremely prone to malfunctions due to improper vacuum connections. If a component does not receive vacuum at the correct time, it cannot function when needed. When working under the hood, pay close attention to the routing and placement of every hose.

I would try adjusting the idle speed. Also check to make sure the fast idle vaccum advance is working. Check for suction at the vaccum advance. You can also always shoot some carb cleaner in there and see if that makes any difference. Hope this helps, good luck!

Have you checked the solenoid to see if it's working or not? I suspect that it isn't. You can usually check them with 5v and feel and listen for the click to make sure they are working. Good luck!
