1987 Audi 5000 CS Questions & Answers
1987 Audi 5000s won't turn over
Do you have headlights if you turn them on. Sometimes if a battery is clear dead and you jump it and it will depend on the gauge of wire in the jumpers whether it will start right off or not. Another scenario is the battery you bought is not good or fully charged. If you have a battery with less than 11 volts it probably won't energize the starter.
1987 CS quatro turbo
I had the same thing happen on our 1987 5000s and it turned out to be the fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump and car was fine...until the next disaster.
Transmission fluid level
on some dipsticks there is a notch on the side that indicates the proper level. on others there is a series of x's or hash marks looks kind of like a file and the top of that area is the proper level
Why won't my car start without getting a jump?
Buy yourself a volt meter and check the batter voltage before and after it starts. You should read 12 volts before starting and around 14 volts once it starts and the alternator is charging the battery. Also check for loose connections between the alternator and battery. Check that the ground wire from the battery is secured to the vehicles frame. Good luck!
Can I open the power
Sure, no problem. The fluid is not under pressure in the reservoir. Just be aware, do not overfill the reservoir, the fluid expands as it gets hot.
I have an audi 5000s Quatro awd i can get it
check this fuse thats located on the upper right corner of your fuse box. worst case cenerio you have injector leakage somewhere. Maybe a bad fuel pump but if your lucky its just that fuel injection fuse
