not sure here without my head under the bonnet and a hammer in my hand to threaten it with but i would look for a wire loose or a connecton to a temperature sensor so the auto choke isnt coming on first ,look for this then reply via this answer as if the cams were out by more than 2 teeth the valves would hit the pistons .Then i will think again for you

I have a 2004 S60 and a std features is that the blower motor will run from 10 minutes to an hour after the engine has been turned off, This is to dry the evaporator in the dash and avoid musty odors.If it drains your battery dead there are possible issues; 1) a weak battery that needs replacing or 2) a faulty power stage/transistor unit ont he blower fan.The transistor unit has power and ground and a digital signal from the control unit. When the transistor sticks, the the blower will not stop when the ignition is turned off.
