My car wont start. the check engine light is not

Car no start problem is sometimes very difficult to confirm. You try all the possible things, but still you get no fault and problem is still the same.-------- In that case, you need to check few things individually. Check the spark, the battery, the crank, the fuel and other most possible parts. Click this link below for more details:-- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/10/car-troubleshooting-tips.html

Having problem starting my car without a jump,

  • Well, if it starts with a jump and runs all day with no problem then that would indicate that the alternator is doing it's job of charging at least. Does the car function normally all day after a jump start? The problem could very well be the battery needs replaced or something is draining the battery overnight and the battery is fine.
  • I would pull the battery and have it tested at your local major parts store. Or better yet if drive-able, drive it the vehicle to the parts store so they can load test it.
  • If it is good then you want to look for a wiring issue. If it tests bad then replace the battery.
  • Hope this helps.

I have a 1999 volvo

This was a common problem on 99's and up. It is usually a permanent fault of the throttle body. The fix can only be done at a dealer as they have to download software to the unit itself. Good luck.

I have a 1999 s70 volvo and the ETS light is on ,

Most of the time this requires a replacement of the unit itself. This is a very common problem and can be confirmed by a diagnosis at the dealer. Installation of a new one requires a software download and must be done at a Volvo shop.

NO POWER TO COMPRESSOR 1999

The compressor will only get power if the system has the correct amount of refrigerant. There are high and low pressure switches that control that. If you have not had the AC evacuated and recharged, start with that. Or your mechanic could use a "sniffer" to find any leaks first.

Why does my ac gets

This is usually a result of not having enough refrigerant in the system. You may have a leak or it may just be time for a recharge. Bring it to your mechanic and have them evacuate the system and recharge it if there are no leaks. If there is a leak, dye can be added to find the leak once it's recharged. They might also have a 'sniffer" that can find leaks while the compressor is running before recharging it.

My window will not roll

If your switch is bad, there will be no function up or down, nor will your hear the faint click at the motor in the door.
If the motor is bad it usually rolls down, because it takes less effort, but will struggle or die out when going up.
If the regulator is bad, it'll usually affect the gear teeth on the motor, causing the window not to hold its position resulting in the window dropping down on its own.

My dim lights will not come on at all. My bright

sound like a headlight relay or possibly both low beam lights went out at the same time highly unlikely but possible.
The headlight relay should be in with the fuses and marked accordingly. You can pick one up at any auto parts store for less than $20 and if they are nice they could put it in for you it's very simple

Are you sure about this code ? P01081 isnt listed like a Powertrain Code; wherever P1081 = ECM
720A = Immobilizer communications.

DTC may be set if ignition is left on too long before engine started. I think you can ignore this if there are no other symptoms.

Other posibilities:
P0181 - Fuel temperature sensor A circuit performance

Hope this helps.

Code p0455 on volvo s70

P0455 OBD-II - Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (no purge flow or large leak)

This indicates a fuel vapor leak or lack of purge flow in the EVAP control system. It means a large leak has been detected. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.

Symptoms: You likely won't notice any drivability problems.

Causes: A code p0455 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
A loose or improperly affixed gas cap
A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)
Other leak or damaged piece in EVAP system

Possible Solutions: With a p0455, the most common repair is to:
Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
Otherwise, replace the gas cap, and/or
Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses (you may hear a vacuum noise or smell fuel), repair if necessary

Hope this helps (remember to rate and comment this answer).

Car would not start battery flat. Had new battery

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, please do replace the battery connectors. If the battery connectors are worn out they tend to loose. If they are loose there will be no electric current return. One good reason why it goes flat right away.

Another thing is that it can be a loose battery cable to the ground. Have it secured and replace if necessary.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
