Sounds like its in limp mode, where the transmission has a problem and to protect the vehicle it will not go faster. Check online for the parts you need, its mostly a solenoid that fails, unless you blew 3rd gear or something.
If you don't believe the shop take it to another one. If they tell you the same thing then you have your answer. The cable could just need sprayed with some silicone or has worn thrue its jacket.
Sometimes the electronic control module goes to sleep. Usually happens when you always unlock the car with the remote. Trying locking and unlocking the driver door several time to see if it clears up.
Fuel injection Relay! These things fail more when it is warm out (during the summer etc). It is a large relay located under the hood inside the fuse box. It is about the size of 2 relays put together. It is either red or green. When it gets hot out, the relay swells up an separates and causes the car to stall out intermittently.
the filter has to be really blocked to prevent fuel flow and even then the cart will idle
I suspect the your fuel pump is a problem either from a faulty fuel pressure regulator or relay for the fuel pump
I am not saying that it is not the fuel pump , just to check the other things first
We just unlocked a 98 Volvo S-70 radio,on the front,you have 2 slots across from each other,use you finger nails or a dime to get it to come out,then you can pull it out,then get the serial number and write it down,then put stereo back in,then get your vin number,it's on your insurance card,then call dealer and ask for your radio code,they will ask for vin number and radio serial code,if your radio says code,then you can enter it,ifit says off,then it's locked,you have 3 tries till it locks and it says off,if it says off,then you turn key to number 1,turn radio on,wait 2 hours,then it will say code,then enter code and radio will unlock,our code is 5513 if you want to see if it will work for you.Here's a link to you owners manual,read about the radio code,same as our's,but the dealer will give it to you free. 1994 Volvo 850 Watch this video. have you done any work on the car or any accidents. anything could have happened but sounds like you have a bad ground or clipped wire check that. you might have to run a new wire to the pump from the fuse box. that is what i would do.
Purge solenoid is located on the radiator fan housing on the driver side. Has a vacuum line from the throttle assemble to the solenoid, a 2 wire connector and a line that goes down and to the pass side of the vehicle.
It is located just to the rear of the turbo on the exhaust pipe. It is the first component after the turbo. Should have an 02 sensor just in front of it.
the malfunction lamp is on to tell you that there is a fault in the system of the engine and/or gear box. It requires you to have the fault codes read and to have the fault fixed. It is there to notify you that something has gone wrong and to have it fixed before it becomes expensive.
