4th gear engaged
There is a button on the side of the "shifter" knob that engages and disengages 4th gear.
How do I remove turbo from 940 volvo?
You just need to unclamp the turbo at both ends, its pretty simple once you find the clamps. If you want, you can send me some pictures to

Cars hard to stay running
You need to have the throttle body cleaned and adjusted, and if it still acts up, then the idle motor may need cleaning or replacement. There are other possibilities, but start here.

Getting rpe message on radio after entering code
If you entered as per the instructions, (6 digit code then "aut") you have the wrong code #. The radio may have been changed. Take out the radio to get the serial #. Your dealer will tell you the new code. After about 3 tries it locks up. Then you have to leave it powered up for 4 hours before you can try again.
Fuel pump getting hot
Not a good sign at all make sure that the pump has a good ground but i will exchange the pump from where i got it, the fuel that runs into the pump should be cooling the motor but in your case the pump is heating the fuel not a very good sign please replace the pump.

Check the tube from the air cleaner to the turbo, plus the intake on the air cleaner. It really sounds like something got sucked into the turbo. Best not run the car until you check it out! If there is a lot of smoke, your turbo is shot! Some can be rebuilt though! The high pitched sound could be your alternator. After you have checked the other things, remove the belt to the alternator, start the car, if the noise is still there, then let us know. OK Frankster016

I HAVE REMOVED TEMP CONTROLL UNIT FROM DASH,TESTED CIRQUIT BOARD AND FOUND
ONE SOLDER SEPARATED FROM BOARD AT THE SMALL RELAY'S LEG. PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND NOW IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM. REMOVING THE CONTROLL UNIT WAS THE MOST DIFICULT JOB TO DO.LOTS OF THINGS TO REMOVE,LOTS OF SCREWS AND SHARP EDGES.IT IS DONE.

yes it does sound like fuel pressure regulater/put a new one on it /they go bad and used is not a good idea /also try unplugging air mass meter if is bosch with it running if its better replace it

does the spark plugs fire when cranking/if not replace the impulse sensor on back top of eng.
Need to replace the timing belt
the timing belt you need will have round teeth and is not hard to replace if you have good tools/recomend u replace the tensioner,idler also/the timming marks come on the new oem belt ,
