1985 Volvo 240 no fuel no spark
well first the fuel pump relay is bad, that is easily replaced. next you have no spark. the first thing you do is take the cap off the distributerand crank the engine. if it spins that tell syou thyat at least the tang or gear on the shaft of the distributor is ok and not broken. next thing is remove the #1 plug and use a 1/4 drive extension 6" long and turn the crank by hand until the #1 cylinder is top dead center(put the extension in the hole of head where the plug was and you should feel the top of the piston also make sure you can feel the top of the piston with half the extension this way you don't drop it in the cylinder with the piston at TDC(top dead center) the rotor of the distributor should be pointed at the #1 firing position. IF it does not that means your timing is off and you need to retime it by taking off timing cover and either replacing the belt/chain or gears. now if you do not have a distributor and you have a coil pack there could be only 2 things that won't give spark. either a bad coil or your altenater is bad(the battery is responsible for starting not running the vehicle like alot of people assume. the altenator energizes the coil which inturngives spark. hope this helps you please rate this thanks
Speedometer stopped working
You probably need a new speedometer cable. It may be too old of a car to try and find one from a salvager. They periodically send the older cars to be crushed.
The cables have been known to break apart after many years of service. It is connected at the transmission and behind the instrument cluster. You have to pull the cluster out part way and reach behind to unclip the cable from the back of the speedometer housing.

I had a 740GLE 1985 Volvo and was told the drive
What did the drive shaft look like, as in what was broken? If a universal joint or CV joint fails, you can tell that it was a mechanical failure. Inspecting your parts may be the only way to tell. I have seen drive shafts break at the rear most universal and then slip out of the transmission yoke and fall out, but like I said, you will see broken parts, not so much as missing.
Fuel Evaporative Control Functional "failed"
that is a heat problem there are only two components on the car that effect the NOX and that is the egr system and the catalytic converter. to check the egr valve start the car up let it idle diconnect the egr valve put a hose on it and **** on the hose if the egr is good it will get a erradic idle you will also have to check the egr soloniod to see if it is working you can do this by removing the hose from the egr and reving the engine if it starts to **** when you rev the engine then it is working if all of that is good replace the catalitic converter and it should sail through.

No power to injectors on 1984 Volvo 240 DL New wiring harness
ok you must see what is missing. an injector requires 12volts to operate. the 12+ should be constant when key on and engine on or off,and the ground pulses. check both ways and see whats not there. if you have no pulse then ecm,cam sensor, or wiring faulty. is power+ is gone, then you have wiring trouble wich is the easier soulution. check and let us know
Fuel pump relay problems
I will be near the top of the carpet passenger side front. open it up. You will see bad solder joints on it. Resolder them and it will be good as new.
