Brakes on my 97 mountaineer pulse when i am almost to a complete

This can be from warped rotors. Also try cleaning rear abs sensors. What happens in rear is brake dust does not have momentum at low speeds to fan out away from wheel sensors. Loose debris falls into abs sensors and makes abs activate. Big culprit in rear is emergency brake linings separate and get crushed then foul sensors.

Battery terminals were removed to clean, when reconnected the battery,my anti theft alarm has disabled the ability to start it

Raise the hood and use the battery terminal wrench, or a standard box wrench, to remove the negative battery cable. Wait 15 minutes before reconnecting the cable, then repeat Step 1. If your Mountaineer still will not start, and the flashing red light begins blinking rapidly when you attempt to start it, something is obviously malfunctioning. Either have the key reprogrammed or have more extensive troubleshooting and repairs done to the P.A.T.S. system by a certified technician.

97 mercury mountaineer. won't start

hi, watch your oil pressure when cranking, you have to have some oil pressure to get the fuel system to start. you may have to find the hot wire at the relay and energize it to see if it is indeed the fuel pump going out. if its been sitting and its a 97 the fuel pump just might have went, you can also try hitting the gas tank from the outside in the middle to see if that works too. have a water hose or fire extinguisher around when your working on fuel system and leave one of your battery cable a little loose.. jm

This info might be in your owners manual? I use gloves to handle bulb, not bare fingers. Sometimes the oil from your skin can cause a hot spot on the bulb. 26310102-bnnovdt3zdfgpyj5apm00kkf-1-0.jpg 26310102-bnnovdt3zdfgpyj5apm00kkf-1-2.jpg

How hot and did you add coolant when it was hot? Adding 80 degree coolant to a 260+ degrees engine can crack metal parts.
