how do I bleed hydraulic clutch in 1991 jeep wrangler
There is a bleeder on the drivers side of the transmission follow the tube from the clutch master cylinder if you cannot find it. Pump the clutch up and hold it down then open the bleeder repeat till air is gone. May have to bleed again after driving a bit. If you want to bleed the clutch master cylinder run a tube from where the line goes into the cylinder and take the cap off and run the tube into the fluid (make sure its in the fluid) then pump the clutch slowly until no air bubbles. I just replaced my clutch master cylinder this is where the information comes from hope it helps you out!

where is the bleed valve for clutch on a 1991 jeep wrangler
1. Fill master cylinder reservoir with DOT 3 brake fluid. Raise and support vehicle. Attach bleeder hose to bleeder screw on bleed line of slave cylinder. See Fig. 1 (attached in link) . Place other end of hose in glass container 1/2 full of brake fluid. Loosen bleeder screw while holding bleeder screw fitting.
2. Have an assistant depress clutch pedal to the floor. Tighten bleeder screw and release clutch pedal. Repeat bleeding procedure until fluid entering container is free of bubbles. DO NOT allow reservoir to run out of fluid during bleeding. Refill clutch master cylinder reservoir.
CAUTION: DO NOT allow bleed line to bend or flex when loosening
bleeder screw.

I have a gas leak from my gas line going into the gas tank on my Jeep. I have removed the shield plate and gas tank to take off the worn out line but I am not sure how to get them out. I don't have a manual and I am stumped. . .
any ideas?
Hello everyone,l
For those of you who haven't started removing the gas tank, I'll start from the beginning.
You will need a 1/2" socket, ratchet, extensions, flat head, needle nose, floor jack, rag, broomstick,. A creeper will make this easier. Depending on your dimensions and the height of the frame on your particular vehicle, you may be able to use it without jacking the vehicle up..
If you were experiencing a line leak, the top of the tank is where you'll find it. Inspect hoses, gaskets and connections

I have a 1991 Jeep Wrangler with a 5speed 6cylinder 4wd and I was driving home and went to shift from 5th to 4th gear and it got stuck in 4th and will not come out the shifter is hard and will not move any where? I have no idea about these transmissions or what type it is except it is a stock 1991 jeep wrangler. The Jeep does drive and move. I took the shifter off and looked down in the hole but all you see is a big rod and a square with a circle in it i assume the shifter goes through to shift. I dont see any plates or openings other then that to look inside at the linkages or anything. Any help anyone can give me or some information on the transmissions in these would help a ton.
check the linkage from gearstick to gearbox

i have a 1991 jeep wrangler straight 6, 5 speed. alternator is overcharging the battery. the alternator is brand new. can anyone help me?
It sounds as the voltage regulator which is built into the back of the alternator has stuck. Occaisionally this even happens on new ones. Would suggest taking the alternator back as it shoud be under warranty.

as i was driving my 1991 jeep wrangler today the clutch petal kept getting looser and loser. now the clutch won't go in all the way making it difficult to shift into gear. what is making this do this?
U have what is called a hydraulic clutch, one of the hydraulic cylinders hs failed, there is a master and a slave cylinder. The most likely and most common cylinder to fail is the slave cylinder, this requires the transmission to be pulled out to replace it. the art is around $125.00, while the trans is out u might as well replace the clutch, the labor is about the same. Here is a picture of the part, let me know if u can see it.

Just got 'the call' from my daughter; the clutch pedal just goes right to the floor-no resistance at all-stuck in gear-does'nt this sound like the clutch master cylinder is out of fluid? No fluid leak in vehicle, so she says.Vehicle is 1991 YJ
slave cylinder needs replaced
