What tools will i need to change starter inn 97 villager/quest engine

Most starters are simply bolted into place. A good socket set and a pair of grips should be enough. The bolts could be tight and difficult to get to so you might need to work underneath the vehicle. Safely lift and support the vehicle on axle stands before you do this.

Within the roof sliding panel housing, the spline is connected to two sliding roof panel cables which cause the roof sliding panel slide links to slide and the roof glass panel to open or to close. The sliding roof panel cables and the spline are part of the roof sliding panel housing. Neither the sliding roof panel motor nor the roof sliding panel housing can be disassembled. If a malfunction is detected with either of these assemblies, the assembly must be replaced.

Remove speed control sensor off tranny of a 97 mercury villager how to remove this old one

Look at the new switch and if there is threads on it then the old one will turn out and you can thread the new one in the same place. You may loose some tranny fluid when doing this so have the new one ready.

How do you know when you need a starter motor ?

Although the starter could be taken off the car and tested, most car parts stores nowadays will test the starter whilst it is still on the car for you free, at least in the U.S.A. You might also have a corroded connection or a bad solenoid causing the problem. God bless your efforts.

Oilstick hard to read

If you can see the marks at all pull the oil stick out and clean it off and touch the marks with the edge of your bench grinder, Don't over do it or you will spoil it but just touch lightly as so to see them. I did this and it works. If you can't do that when you change the oil see where the oil line is and mark it at that point.
