Code error P1361 Honda CIvic LX 2002 -- What it really means?
Appear Check engine light intermitent.
In my case after Timing belt, water pump, tensor, oil seals and spark replacement. Car lose power and just run at 20 MPH.
After 15 to 20 minutes with the engine off, it starts normal and 5 minutes later turn off the check engine light
P1361 TDC Sensor Intermittent Interruption (I got this from Engine-Light-Help.com)
TDC should mean Top Dead Center.
It is the sensor that tells the computer the #1 cylinder piston is at the very top. And therefore, fires the spark plug.
Since the maintenance done above, I believe the the timing marks for the timing belt is not lined up properly. Being off by one tooth will cause this problem.

engine light code P1362 problem
P1362 = TDC (top dead center) sensor (1) no pulse.
Reset your car's power control module (PCM or ECU) by turning off the key and pulling the clock/backup fuse for 10 seconds then reset. Start the engine and see if the code returns. If not, it was an intermittant fault and the system is okay--but check for dirty or loose wire connector at TDC1/TDC2 sensor. If the code returns, check wiring to the sensor---if the wiring checks out, replace the sensor.

Trunk latch will not catch when trunk is closed. Can get latch to work with screwdriver when open, but will not close when trunk is shut. Have had problems with it over the years, but nothing would work this time. Also, tried WD40, which has worked in the past, but didn't this time. Have always had problems closing it after opening it from latch inside vehicle, but not with using the key to open the trunk, but this time even just using the key didn't work. It there a diagram of the latch out there to look at? Or any other advice on what we can do to fix this?
trunk latch cable probably needs to be replaced

Only has problems when hot - or long drives... the problem causes car to not go above 3000 RPM and car to not go over 30 MPH
just replace the tds sensor and the crank sensor... its a common problem on tha year civic..

i need to know the timing marks for a 2002 honda civic 1.7 litre engine
There are 4 marks on the crank pulley. When standing on the driver side of the car looking down on the pulley, the mark farthest to the right is the mark for TDC (Top Dead Center). The three marks on the left are for the spark timing. Of these three the mark in the center should align with the arrows/triangles on the timing belt cover when the engine is running and a timing light is shining on the crank pulley. The outer two marks represent Honda's tolerances for the ignition timing. As you look at the cam pulley the correct mark is at 7 o'clock with the two other marks at 3 & 9 o'clock positions. make sure you have correc timing, honda have "O" tolerance when it come to piston and the valves meets. or stop by any auto part store they should have Hane's auto repair manuel for 20.00 buck, worth all the money with proper instruction including picture, great investment to have for the future repair. spend little money to make sure you do the right job. good luck!!

Hi i have a 2002 honda civic with a code p 1259 on it will that be the problem why i can,t drive the car it will drive fine at low speed but when i push on the gas to go faster it will **** back and forward and the rpm will stay on 4000rpm and will not go any faster .
P1259 HONDA - VTEC System Malfunction
Possible causes- Low engine oil pressure or level
- Open or short circuit condition
- Faulty VTEC oil pressure switch
- Faulty VTEC solenoid
When is the code detected? The P1259 is set when there is a problem in the VTEC Oil Pressure Switch circuit or VTEC Solenoid Valve circuit

check engine light comes on after 5-1o miles driving then problems start all over again
This is known as "get me home" mode/limp mode.
It is designed for you to get the car safely to the side of the road. Needs to go to a garage as there is a fault somewhere which will probably need attaching to a computer to investigate.
