My turn signals dont work i have a 98 cadillac
check the fuses on the car first
if you look in the book that came with the car, look at the table of contents and find the fuse box diagram. locate the fuse for the turn signal and replace it if it is broken.
if the fuse is not broken then check the relays on that controls the light.
if that is ok then you need to change the flasher on the car
Where is the pump located check air suspension
its at the back of the vehicle somewhere roadside but never seen it only heard it once on one of these cars at a show ,please remember iam a europeon mechanic so i dont see many exotics like this
I bought this 1998 Cadillac Seville, the car runs
whenever you have more than one failed gadget, it speaks of a common problem. there is most likely a small fuse box with large current fuses under the hood and a larger fuse box with many low current fuses inside the car up under the dashboard or thereabouts. an owners manual will show you where they are. i think you are going to find that one of the large fuses is either blown or just plain gone as a prior owner got tired of messing with it. so you are going to have to figure out which of the many small fuses are in the circuit with the missing/gone large fuse and pull all of those out. if you scroll through these questions you will see a pattern of luxury car complaints around the issues of the airbag suspensions, the anti-theft/door lock stuff, and the heated seats. These things are made to get to the standard three year trade-in and not much further. So i would suspect and disable all that then put the large fuse in and start reconnecting things one by one until the fuse blows again and then permanently disable that last thing. you may well find it is the airbag suspension, and your ride is now buckboard.
good luck with that!
What kind of brakes are on my 1998 Cadillac
Both, actually. In the front, disks.
In the rear the main braking is a similar disk, and much smaller is a drum, essentially in the hub area of the disk rotor. In there are cute little drum breaks that are the emergency or parking brake. Do inspect and adjust them, while you are in there.
Familiarize the feel and effectiveness of the parking brake before you start...so you will know.
98 cadillac sts need to
Hi! Have you tried pulling it out from underneath the car? This can be a perfect spot to pull it out. HOpe this helps and thank you for using FixYa!
When driving the engine runs hot, replace spark
Suggest you look on the drivers side of the engine in the front, there is a black metal guard that covers a pulley that drives the water pump. Make sure the belt is not broken and that the water pump turns freely. Have the cooling system checked for exhaust gases, That is the way to check for blown head gaskets. Is there any coolant in the oil? The Northstar engine is designed to shut down cylinders one at a time to protect itself when overheating. Hope this will help you.
My 1998 cady sts is
The vent solenoid is stuck closed on the ELC unit (electronic level control). You can replace the vent valve but it is mounted to the ELC unit witch is attached to the rear axle assembly on the top of axle assembly above the right muffler. To temporary level car, disconnect the compressor electrically then disconnect the air line on one of the rear shocks, let air out till car is level put air line back on shock. Thank you
I have a 88 cadilac
One way to test the fan is to spin it by hand. If there is heavy resistance or any kind of sound/grinding, it is the fan itself. Internal windings get burned out and no longer allow the motor to spin. It has to be free. You're on the right track by testing for voltage. Be sure to test for ground also to make sure that the circuit is getting completed and only being broken by the internal workings which are not easy to repair without the right know how and equipment. Test for ground and let me know what you see. If you need a wiring diagram, please feel free to let me know.
Auto theft system keeps coming on and disabling
the problem is probably the ignition lock cylinder. the ignition lock cylinder has two wires coming off it, after tine they will break. to repair need to replace the lock cylinder code the new lock cylinder and replace the key
Can you please let me
the average cost to tune this which is really just replace the spark plugs is about $250.00 here in Calif, remember most of this is labor, the plugs are very hard to get at, our labor rate is $100 per hour, so adjust the figure for your local labor cost. I assume you have no other problems and the engine runs smooth, if this is not the case then special testing applies and u are looking at a substantially larger repair bill.
Windshield washer pump not working
replace the washer pump if it's not responding to current. Generally, they are located in the windshield washer tank. Also, check the wires to it to make sure they are not severed.
1998 cadillac, the horn just went off 3am in the
I have a 1977 Cadillac Seville and it does the same thing, and when the outside temperature drops below 65 degrees the horn will sound continuously until either the horn relay or the horn fuse is removed.
The problem is in the horn pad on the steering wheel, and the contact plates inside of the horn pad are too close together (a manufacturing defect) and when the temperature drops down to a certain degree then the horn pad will contract and cause the metal contact plates inside of the horn pad to touch and make contact, and it is same thing as if you were pushing on the horn pad.
I have also heard of the exact opposite happening and when the temperature gets too hot the horn pad will expand and cause the metal contact plates to touch and make contact and activating the horn.
