Theft security problem
Usually it means the computer is not accepting the chip in your key.It can be the key, the sensor in the lock cylinder, or something in the security module or computer. You might try another key or lock and unlock the driver's door with the key.
PCM
drivers side under hood behind heedlamp u will see a black box its under it
Operating temp
The thermostat opens at 195 degrees and the radiator fan comes on around 220 degrees. So normal range is between these two temps.
A/C service message on 98 Cadillac Deville?
On most models, you turn the key switch on but don't start the engine. Push "off" and "warm" to enter the diagnostics program. When 70 appears on the fuel screen, push "off" and "high fan" at the same time and hold until all symbols and numbers appear, then release.
98 cadillac deville needs rear shocks
I have a 1998 Deville and both rear coil springs are broken.. It also has the air shocks that I dont think work.. Can I put regular shocks in and is there a after market coil spring out there for it ??
I need help finding the coolant temp sensor can u please help me
NOTE
Use care when handling the ECT sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.
NOTE
The engine coolant temperature sensor is located on the intake manifold water jacket or near the thermostat housing. On the 4.6L engine, the coolant temperature sensor is located on the rear cylinder head, at the cruise control servo bracket. It is necessary to drain coolant from the cooling system to a level below the sensor, prior to sensor removal.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Drain the coolant level below the height of the ECT and recycle the engine coolant.
- Detach the electrical connector at the sensor.
- Remove any obstruction to access the ECT.
- On the Catera, this would include removing the intake plenum and the intake bridge.
- Using a deep well socket, remove the sensor.
To install:
- Coat the threads of the new sensor and install it in the engine. Tighten to 15 ft. lbs.
- Install the electrical connector.
- Refill the system with coolant.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
P0122 p0405
Code 122 is for a low signal from the TPS, and code 405 is for a low signal from the EGR position sensor. The computer sends a 9 volt signal to most of the sensors and the return signal tells the computer what is happening. For example, if most of the 9 volt signal comes back from the TPS the computer knows the throttle is closed.I would check the two circuits to see if the reference voltage is there. If it is not, it could be a problem in the harness, or inside the computer.
Northstar engine
You must still have engine damage like a cracked block or cylinder head.
Coolant reservoir
this is the color of newer coolant so don't worry nothing is wrong with red.
What could this noise be
I am assuming the noise happens with the key switch on or the engine running. It could be a relay or one of the blend doors for the HVAC. You'll have to get behind the glovebox to find the source.
Left rear window goes down but not up
What you have is an electric motor that can run in forward and reverse. In the UP position the motor gets power on one side and ground on the other, DOWN is the opposite. While it is possible the motor is defective, chances are you have a problem with one of the switches. Power and ground go thru the driver master switch as well as the left rear door switch, so you would need to check for power and ground at the motor for each direction.
Gas gauge does not work
unfortunatley the sending unit is in the fuel tank where if faulty it would have to be replaced you can check it by dropping the tank at the two smaller wires test the resistance in them with no fuel in the tank the resistance should only read around +- 5 also there is a plug just in front of the tank where the pump assembly plugs into you can check resistance there instead of dropping tank
1998 Cadillac Deville low refrigerant a/c
I have a 1999 Cadillic Deville. The low Frefrigerant indicater come on after about 15 minutes of disconnecting the battery power. Each Time I reset the power the air conditioner comes back on for a while then goes out. I have taken it into the local auto repair place and they find no problem with the unit.
Could this be a intermittent connection to the computer. They have replaced both sencors and the problem persists. Where is the computer located on the car that handles this AC sensor message?
