Your Catera has a sealed for life transmission so therefore on one of these models there is no dipstick and you cannot check the fluid level yourself. The dealer can check the level but that is only necessary if you have a leak.
Use a premium grade oil and a quality filter such as AC/Delco, Wix, Purolator, or Bosch. The correct weight oil is listed in your owner's manual and possibly on the oil fill cap or dipstick.

maybe a wire has come loose or cut.could also be a fuse.check to see if the fuse is bad and check to see if a wire is burnt or apart.

If your cooling fluid is full and other cooling systems are in place and working - you should be fine.
The fan on your cooling system is made to continue to run once the engine is shut down if it is running a little [ or a lot] hot. So don't panic if it runs 5 minutes after you shut the car off.

It sounds like the ground from the alternator is bad. Have the connections cleaned and restore the ground. if that doesn't work have the alternator tested. Sometimes they do fail straight from the shelf. Hope this helps. Good luck.
