Have you looked under the drivers seat ---I've had a few toyota's with them there --Stock GM though for some reason put some engine computers there too ---don't get them confused ---since you
may find both under there ---Most MR 2's had this and the computer in the rear trunk in front of the
liner --nice set-up too high and dry ---but if you got in 12" of water --well forget the stereo til it dries out --lol keep your sense of humor and repost with what kind of car ---Hawk
5L engine. Why won't it start?
check that the fuel is getting to the engine and the spark is presentm if it is a gas/petrol engine that is. The spark and fuel must be introduced into the combustion chamber simultaneously for an engine to work.
If one is present without the other the engine cannot work.So check that the fuel is getting there by slightly loosening one of the plugs and turning over for a good while ...then quickly remove the spark plug and check to see whether the end of the plug is moist with fuel. If it is not quickly sniff the spark plug hole checking for the smeell of gas/ petrol... if you can smell it the n that is one possible cause discounted.
Then push the removed plug into the wire associated with it and place the tip close to a metal section of the engine.....do not hold it .....
With somebody cranking the engine over observe the spark produced...if a spark is produced make note of whether it is a healthy, visible spark... If it is that may be another cause discounted.
If the spark is ok and the fuel is ok then you need to check the timing, that is you need to check that the two elements are introduced into the combustion chamber simultaneously
This can be done by a mechanic if you cannot check yourself. A mechanic may be able to make adjustments to the fuel supply and the spark to make them coincide thereby making the engine work.
If during the above process you find that no fuel is getting to the combustion chamber , or whether the injection of fuel is a weak one , you must seek to ascertain what the cause of the bad fuel supply is.
Maybe clogged fuel lines or fuel pipes impeding the flow.
Maybe a weak fuel pump not delivering enough pressure.
A malfunction of any of the sensors associated with the fuel system that lead to no or bad fuel delivery. These include the crank position sensor, the cam position sensor, the throttle position sensor , the electronic control unit, the sensors attached to it, etc.
If the spark is found to be weak you should try changing plug wirres/cables
If that has little effect check the distributor cap/rotor arm for condition.
If that is okay check the coil or coil packs.
Remember that these are only some of the potential causes of non working engines,
What is speed sensor for?
its a sensor that goes from the output shaft of your transmission it sends a signal to your speedometer to tell you how fast you are going
What type of coolant should I put in my Caddi and
You vehicle takes the green stuff. You can get it premixed or straight. If you get the straight stuff you will need to mix it with water at a 50/50 mix. This means if you use 1 gallon of coolant then you need to mix in 1 gallon of water. The premixed stuff you can just put right in no mixing.Hope this helps.Good luck.
